Only justification I can see for VAR to not give it is that the foul might be just outside the box (it's hard to tell) and VAR isn't allowed to pull back for a foul outside the box. Either way though the fact the ref didn't even think it was a foul is a joke.

Rather than eliminate controversy from the game VAR has made it worse.

It is now far easier to come to a decsion that you want as an officiating team than ever before, rather than enforcing the laws of the game

Unfortunately VAR can't award a free kick even if they can see a blatant foul.

It was a foul but i'm not sure it was such a clear and obvious error not to give it. I can live with that one.

Apart from a very well taken goal from Tchouaméni I reckon it's been pretty much honours even. The French look class when they get into our box but Harry Kane is scaring them ****less every time he has the ball in their box. This game ain't over by a long chalk yet. We may even get a few decisions in our favour from the ref next 45!
