England tour of the West Indies

Ive only just seen what the W.Indies line up is. That is quite possibly the most defensive line up I have ever seen fielded in a test match. Only 3 bowlers, the best of whom (Edwards) only really operates in short bursts.

And Fidel has gone off injured ...

It look serious? Trouble nowdays is people just wander on and off as they please. Granted England were amongst the forerunners of this, but it doesn't really seem in the spirit of things to just pop off the field between sessions for a fag and and a jaffa cake. *

* THat said, if Monty wants to go off for long breaks whilst we are fielding, and be replaced by a sub who can move with more grace that a broken shopping trolley that seems like a good idea to me.

Completely and utterly random this, but there may be some cricket fans interested....Marcus Trescothick's autobiography, which is not a bad read, is being sold in hardback for £3.99 in that pikey bookshop which always looks like it has a closing down sale ('The Works'?). It's £18.99 in Waterstones, so dont all thank me at once!

I like the fact that 8 of SHah's 9 came from two successive balls with the other 1 coming from 27 balls!

Thanks Mark. What book store.

Very dull but England ahead on points. Getting 450 on this wicket will be like getting 800 in Barbados. Wicket already beginning to turn and 2 spinners in our line-up makes me think we're in the box seat here.

It might've sounded dull, 350 odd for 4, but it was an utterly absorbing day's play, every run and every wicket was fought and scrapped for from first ball to last. It's what day 3 of a test match is all about.

Robbed ourselves of a couple of wickets today by wasting our referrals last night. Hopefully Strauss will learn from that.

Indeed, England in particular haven't helped themselves with their incessant appealing, plus Tiffin & Harper are probably the most incompetent umpires on the list.

Monty had a plum as you like appeal for lbw turned down just before tea, having to rely on referrals for decisions like that is shocking! We were a it unlucky today I thought there was a couple of catches near the end that just feel short aswell.

Is anyone still followingh this game on tv? If so what are they saying about the declaration and KP getting his century? Im following it on cricinfo and they keep referring to Harmison going backwards and forwards giving messages. Surely though once their ask went over 3 per over (ie 210 from 70) we should ahve been decalring and trying to get a few overs in before lunch.....
