Let the leeds fan stay, i like him, he is of a lower intelligence than us so he wants to learn what true fans are on here, not like the leeds forum.

Leeds forum as follows

"Hey Up, seen me new whippet, swapped it for wife after i beat her up, mind you the dogs a better lay than wife and better breath too"

Would want to go on the leeds forum with this type of talk!!

:D :D You have visited a few Leeds sites in your time haven't you. I am in awe of you lot, its helping me learn myself good english

I say get them both. Mulgrew for a fee and sign Jones on loan as competition for Gower. Job sorted.

Strangely enough I was going to suggest trying for both Mulgrew and Jones as well. I believe Jones was actually Tilly's first choice for replacing Hammell in January. He looked very impressive for Northampton.

I think Tilly is stating the obvious about the players we need, because we need them regardless to fill the starting 11, 16 squad. These are his priority and once he has got them on board he can re access the finances and then go out and strnegthen in other areas. Its no use blowing all our money on CD and CM when we at least have 3 bodies in them positions, and then cant afford a decent left back which we desperatly need.

The first priority must be to replace the players who have left.

That is:

Hammell/Mulgrew - hopefully we can get Mulgrew to sign permanently. I'm not convinced he's a natural left-back, but he has class. If not maybe Lockwood. The in-house alternative is Adam Barrett which would allow us to go after that dominant centre-half we've been missing since Spinner and Efe's legs went.

Hunt - Grant or a similar type of versatile player

Collis - probably already replaced by Masters in January

Black - probably already replaced by Scannell in January

Wilson - we've managed fine for the last two years without him. Herd will replace him.

We can then see if we can upgrade any positions. Priority is surely our defence. We were third top scorers in the division, ahead of promoted Forest and Donny. Defensively bottom placed Luton only conceded 8 more goals than us (and that isn't including the 5 conceded at Donny in the play-offs) and we conceded the second most goals in the top half. Forest, for example, conceded 23 goals (a goal every other game) less than us. That was the difference between finishing 6th and losing in the play-offs and automatic promotion.

A dominant centre-half to replace Prior/Sodje and a goalkeeper who can command his goal-line, maybe even his 6 yard box would be a big upgrade.

I'd then like to see a creative right-winger to provide competition for the inexperienced Moussa and Scannell, and to provide an alternative for the excellent Gower, on whom we are overly reliant going forward. We're not short of options at right-wing as Revell and Walker can also play there, but I'd like to see a more permanent option there.

Up front Barnard, Walker, Revell, MacDonald and Hooper cover most bases. I think its fair to say we'll cash in on Harrold and recoup most of our money on Foran, so if we off-load them we might seek to bring in a pacey striker, or an experienced striker. If we do so, we'll probably off-load Hooper as there should be a few takers for him following his loan spell at Hereford. Have we released Ademano?

What happened to that thread after the Doncaster game? Title was something like Enough of this mutual a licking.

I listed all the positions and players I thought would be worth a shout including Dickinson from Stockport who finished the season on 21 goals.

We do have a lot of strikers, but I do think we need another because none of the partnerships have worked so far..

I agree with that pretty much 100%. the only thing I'd do differently would be to keep Hooper. I'd let Charlie Mac go instead.

Just to confirm that the new keeper won't be Nikki Bull.

He's done a u-turn and is staying at Aldershot.

I heard from a massive aldershot fan that we apparantly offered Nikki Bull a contract before he did a u-turn and went back to aldershot.

Don't know anyone that knows of him, but he got goalkeeper of the year and player of the year for the blue square prem. I for one would love to have seen him at southend. I see him play a couple of times this year and even said when i was watching that i would love to have a goalie like that.

We all say that goal scoring stikers are hard to come by at a good cost, but personally i think our problem is going to be getting a goalie that is better than daryl, which will be a task...
