Funny how the Echo gets slated. I am a bit biased as I used to work for them but Southenders are lucky to have it, it's one of the top performing dailies in the whole country. Most have gone weekly/gone bust. Where I live, in Chelmsford, we have to put up with the Essex Chronicle, printed once a week and with no breaking news online, so not much chance of finding out what's going on locally.

Having said that the people who comment on Echo stories online are just about the worst people in the world.

Anyway CP says there is no ban so it seems like a bit of a fuss over nothing.

He tweeted me that the club banned the players from taking to the echo and other media good as a ban!

Also why do you think the Echo does well? its in one of the most densely populated parts of the country - Chelmsford is just chelmsford but down here you got well over 175k and thats just in the borough of southend alone!
 
Chris Phillips has tweeted there is no ban. PS doesn't want players talking to any media.

No need for prolonging this at the moment
