I think its a disgrace that players like nugent and eastwood are not given a chance in the top division, If eastwood was african and playing in the second division of france then premiershite clubs would be falling over themselves to bung the right agent and snap him up, same could be said for nugent even sharpe at scunthorpe would surely be worth a punt. Why dont they get the chance they deserve?

Because if he was African and in the French second division he wouldn't have his chairman quoting a price tag of five million pounds.

I take your point though. You see someone like Samaras at Man City who cost something like £6m. Nugent surely would have been a better investment there.

Bacause clubs wont risk spending £6 mill on Nugent or £5 mill on Eastwood, young English players get stupid valuations put on their head. Look at Villa spening £9 mill on Young what a joke what has Young really done to warrant that kind of price tag?

I wouldn't say it's a stupid valuation on either player it is just the way that the market in England is. Preston demand £6m for Nugent because he is worth that much to them as the rewards of top-flight football are so great in this country. Even a small Premiership club like Watford can demand silly money for their players because they have silly money coming in through TV and sponserships.

Nugent is a top player, premiership quality, and if i was a chairman i'd pay big money to buy him for my club. I just don't get the feeling people would pay massive money for eastwood. Another affluent season in the championship and he'd become hot property.

Well I think it would have been up with his very best, he showed great strenght to hold of a couple of defenders and he was leaning when he struck the shot just needed a little bit more bend.

It looked like it was going to hit the corner flag, I have not seen many shots with more bend on it!!

Take your point though, a few more centremetres would have been nice!!
