Eastwood to QPR ?

Ayrshire Blue

The Custard Splat
QPR's Iain Dowie has been given the go-ahead to sign three strikers with West Brom's Kevin Phillips, Bobby Zamora of West Ham and Wolves star Freddy Eastwood his targets. (News of the World)

Wouldn't surprise me. He has a Welsh manager going for him at Coventry, but if rumours of him not settling in the north are correct, then he'd more than welcome a move back south.

I don't care where he goes as long as he goes to a club that will treat him right and give him a chance to show his real talent and prove that Prick McCarthy was wrong to treat him like he has.

Can't argue with that. It's clear that Freddy's attitude is not always the best but then a better manager than McC**t would have handled it a lot better. He is a real talent but it just needs to be directed in the right way for him to recover some of the form he showed in his time with us and, to a lesser extent, for Wales.

If Freddy goes to QPR it will be a great move for him and he will score hatfuls of goals for them.

Get out of Wolves Freddy and find a club where you will be appreciated. Good luck to you wherever that may be.

I would pick Chris Coleman over Dowie anyday. Apparently the cov deal was as good as done but has now stumbled as wolves want 1.5 million straight up but Cov are looking to pay 1 with 500k of add ons.

it does appear to be very quiet on the eastwood front. haven't seen his name mentioned in any of the papers for a couple of weeks now.

Would be a great buy for QPR. Can imagine him being in a great strike partnership with Kevin Phillips. Not to sure on them getting Zamora though. Hopefully QPR will appreciate Eastwood and make him a better player than he already is!

I do wish someone would come in for him and rescue him from Wolves, would have thought he could definitely do a decent enough job at Cardiff.

Dont quite understand al this 'rescue' eastwood stuff. If the bloke was that good he would be playing 1st team football wherever he was. Fact is, he has languished in the reserves for any given time at west ham, southend, wolves.......Perhaps it is down to the player rather than the respective managers

Anyone reckon this fisherman looks like the bloke on the Club Shop signage? haha

Freddy didn't struggle with us, the whole team struggled and Freddy suffered as a result. The rescue bit referred to the fact that that ar5e of a manager, MM, has completely mishandled him and enver understood how to get the best out of him. In a team like that it should have been easy, and indeed, when him and Kightly were playing together it looked exactly that. It was only when MM started messing the line up around that things went wrong for him. To me that's a rescue.

Well forgive me but how do you or any of the other posters on here qualify to be a better manager than MM? I would imagine he has more knowledge of footballers and their ways in his little finger than any of us have collectively! As i see it, fred struggled with us in the champ, irrispective of whether it was the whole team or just him. He also struggled to make an impact at wolves with many fans recording the same observations as we did. ie, appears to have the talent but lazy, not a team player...etc. etc..So, who is wrong? the few on here who see nothing but the sun shining from his orrifice or the apparent vast majority who see an obvious natural talent who lacks the will/discipline to succeed?
