I had a long convo with a first team player on the stroll back from the Civic centre on "Stadium Day " i have quoted b4 ....he was unsettled and wasnt a great tonic in the dressing room anymore ......But that said I thought tonight he ran his socks off....Its a rare day when we wim 5-0 without a goal from him at all.but his workrate wa excellent ...|Maybe he is knuckling down to having to work and prove himself more...Freddy has emmense potential but its up to him to take it higher.

Saw that and thought the interviewer was a bit tight for trying to spoil the night. To be fair I think Freddy was caught a little off guard - not expecting transfer talk at this time.

Nothing surprising there.

Lets just be grateful he is still here to help us stay up this season.

The way he burst through their defence in the second half was brilliant, shame he didnt shoot.

Have to say i agree with some of it his scoring record is probably in the top five in the country, i can not believe he still here i have seen plenty of plyers come and go over the last twenty two seasons ans apart from chris powell and stan collymore he is the best player i seen in a southend shirt i am genuinely amazed he still here, the annoying thing is if he had same scoring record and was dutch or french or african he would already be playing in the prem, they just dont buy that much young english talent from the lower divisions.

Lets all be honest, I've never thought Freddy would be here after this summer even if we stayed up.

If we stay up its going to be because of his goals so other teams are bound to take notice.

If he plays like he has been in over the past few weeks I don't care if he leaves in the summer, we're past the difficult first season and he get the move he deserves. As long as it's not to the newly relegated Wet Spam. I'd Love him to stay but he does deserve a bigger stage. If only we could keep him until the new stadium when we could afford his wages.

But lets remember he's not the best public speaker and may have been caught out by having a mic stuffed in his face... and if we do stay up perhaps Ron will sell his Bentley and offer Freddy the wage he deserves!

Yes, one game hardly makes a season!!!!

How many has he got?! In a team in the bottom 3 isn't too shabby...

And has been the case all season he is marked by more than one defender thus creating more space for the rest of the team.Perhaps finally they are realising how to utilise the extra space.

Anyone else notice how Freddy hardly ever celebrates when his team mates score, everyone else runs to the scorer and jumps on him while Fred just turns round and walks back to the centre circle on his own!

This was very noticable with Sodje's goal as I watched his reaction when the rest of the players were going mad!

NOT the actions of a team player who's heart is at the club:mad:

I think it is because he likes to be the guy getting the goals. No real problem as long as he keeps on putting on good performances like he has lately.
