Eastwood off to charlton ????

NOTW printed that charlton will make a bid to sign Eastwood in the Summer and Tilly is already out looking for a replacement , with Stevenage striker Steve Morisson our target.

I for one can see some truth in this one as Charlton were one of the clubs that i think would suit Freddy , with them paying better wages , pretty close to his home , first team football and the lure of a bigger club and potential of playing in the prem.

Help! i see Morrison play against Daggers and he was awful. Unbalanced and slow, thought at the time how the hell has he scored quiet a few goals!

Very aware, good movement and dangerous around the box, in fact the exact opposite of Bradders!

So by what you've seen of him what standard could he be capable of holding his own in???

I for one saw about 3 of his reserve games when he was with us and he was all of the above and also scored aswell

If we stay up I think Freddy will sign a new deal and stay. He's got the new stadium to look forward to and he's not good enough yet for The Premiership.

Do you actually know any gossip on that front or is that just your opinion?

Unless we get a very good offer in, I just don't see Ron Martin selling Eastwood this summer, regardless of whether he wants to sign a new contract or not.

I've not heard anything but It's an easy decision for the club isn't it? We have a player rated somewhere between £2-3.5m(ish) who will have just one year left on his deal with no mention of being interested in signing a new one (infact just the opposite given his numerous comments about wanting to join a Premiership club during the window). Ron may say he wants to keep freddy and I'm sure he does but the fact remains if he stays with us next season and he runs out his contract he'll go for nothing and we'll have lost out to the tune of £2m+ and believe me if Freddy was a free agent there'd be 5 or 6 Prem clubs and many more in the Championship who'd be trying to persuade him to join. Ron and Tilly are too shrewd not to act on this in the summer, they'll no doubt ask Freddy to decide what he wants to do and if he doesn't sign an extension before the start of the season he'll be up for sale in the August window (that's if he hasn't gone already).

How do you when you are not allowed to play, stats:

Starts for Southend United: 2

Goals for Southend United: 2

Appearences for Orient: 2

Goals for Orient: 2

He is doing all right!!

Give the kid a chance

I agree, he's doing "alright", no more. How many sub appearances has he made? I quite agree that he should be given a few more years, but as I said we need experienced, accomplished strikers and not conference players, especially IF we're got Freddy's cash to splash.

Just spoken to someone who is without a doubt 'in the know'. Eastwood is definitely going in summer and we prob gonna go for Paul Benson, believe me when I say my source is in the know.

That all depends on whether anyone comes in with that kind of offer. Which I don't think they will. If all that is on the table is the kind of 750k-1m offers that we've supposedly fielded this season then I don't see Freddy going anywhere whether he likes it or not. He's worth that much to us on the pitch for another season.

yep... we need him or a lot of cash to stay up next season

remember Freddys agent may be desperate for him to move and may be encouraging the young man to make all the right noises but it may just be the case that Freddy likes where he lives and taking his pony out and being a big star at the best club in the world !!!

I would never reveal source, not fair on them to name on site etc etc, but I would not post any old bull****.

BBC "gossip" Column today

Charlton are tracking Freddy Eastwood and Paul McVeigh.

Read in to what you will.

Give the lad a chance. Don't read too much into substitute appearances as Tilly never gives anybody very long to make a difference unless we're 3-0 or 3-1 down!
