Donaster reveal that they

if we could say you'll be playing alongside Freddy Eastwood that would clinch the deal

Theres no way we can guarantee Eastwood will be here, he has already indicated he wants to play at a higher level and the only way he will be here come August if no one comes in for him.

The story is on doncaster's official site as their "record transfer" so not sure what amount they are talking about.

i cant see us splashing that kind of cash if we are still hopeful of keeping fred. hayter is a decent league 1 player but i reckon if keeping freddy is on the cards then i don't think we will be in the market for strikers

For me, if the chairman says Fred is staying it means he's staying. That is an amazing bargaining tool, and if hayter came it would be a bargaining tool to maybe keep freddy with us.

Not sure about recent times AD as O'Driscoll left Bournemouth for Doncaster in September IIRC.

Maybe I should've been clearer what I meant was he was played in midfield under O'Driscoll when he was manager, he's been moved back up front now. I'm surprised he'd therefore play under him again.

Just shows you what a new ground with a good marketing team in place can do for you doesnt it...

Donny a few seasons back were a poor non-league side, **** ground etc, going nowhere.... now look at them.

This shows just how much we need Fossetts Farm, but thats another topic.

Good call - FF is essential if we don't want to be considered "little Southend United" forever...

If they get Hayter, how about a move for Paul Heffernan. Better goalscoring record than Hayter.

crocked at the moment i think...

talking about hayter his goalscoring record isn't the best (little over 1 in 4) but i think he brings that linkup play and likes to sit in the hole. people have mentioned how they would love to see him alongside fred but i'm not sure how well that would work as they both like to drop deep. IMO we need a young, quick PBB

BBC say a deal is unlikely to be completed immediately as Hayter is away on holiday.

Would like to see him here if Eastwood goes but if Freddy stays they are too similar.

I quite rate Akinfenwa. He always seems to be on the fringes of things at Swansea so maybe he could be a possibility. He's another one though who will only hit double-figures in a good year. We'd need a real goalscorer alongside him.

Also, how is Rory Fallon doing at Plymouth now? I know he didn't play against us but was that down to injury or is he out of favour already?
