Do we need/want a striker to come in?

new striker - yes or no?

We've got more than enough strikers and our strikers are more than good enough.

If we're going to spend more money on increasing the already too-large wage bill then it needs to be on the areas where we're crying out for investment (defenders who can defend and wingers).

Hit the nail on the head.

Ok you all moan about the strikers we have not scoring enough yarder yarder yarder, but quite a few of them do do a good job for us, which can lead to other players in the team scoring...I think we are ok at the moment, lets see how bad Laurent is first, I have no problem with Barnard upfront partnering any of the other strikers, especially Freedman.

Barnard with Revel could also work, as yesterday Barnard was dropping deep doing alot of work, Revel would be able to do that for him and let Barnard push up into the box where he is best and where we need him!.

I just tipped the vote to 16 15 in favor of our strikers.

I still want to see us sign a striker yep. We still had the same age old problem yesterday where we didn't have anybody looking to make runs in behind and also when we did get to the byline, there was nobody there to attack the ball.
Other than Walker who was in one-on-one until he was hauled back.

Walker can get in over the top, the only problem is will he finish.

That was on a counter attack though. Walker never looks to play on the shoulder, he always drops deep with his back to goal. That's the type of striker he is. He's most certainly not a Theo.

No. More than happy with what we have.

We need to 1) sort out the defence and 2) find a good winger (could be Betsy or Laurent). As has been said, better supply should mean more goals from the strikers we have.

No not without offloading someone, if FM is to be believed Dougie is on far too much for what he's given us so ideally him. I think that could be difficult though.
If we are bringing someone in then I'm in agreement with many who have posted before me, we need a winger!

This is an old chestnut. Irespective of what we all may think, it appears evident to me, especially by the trial offered to Rigters, that Tilly believes we do need something else up front. This situation will, if anything, have become more urgent with Laurent's injury. Would fully expect to see at least two loan signings, before the end of the month, a stiker and a winger i.e. a 'Robinson' and a 'HRK'.
Perhaps one shouldn't panic too soon about the defense, especially as we have Mvoto to come in, however, we need to be concerned fairly early on if we start shipping two goals every match. In this respect, from what I read, some would blame Tilly for not making substitutions earlier on, in order to replace tiring players. Maybe defensive concerns should move from central defender to a natural left back. Depending what is going to happen with White and Heath will have to see whether we can bring in a left back on loan.

You may be right, I've not seen Walker enough just yet myself.

I would say, no, we dont NEED another striker... but then if something came along that is BETTER... then WHY NOT?

Spot on sir.

The collection of strikers we have at the Club are good enough for this level, I'm certain of that. Barnard is a 20 goal a season striker when fit. Freedman, Walker, Revell and Laurent will all chip in with the required goals as well.

Walker was very impressive on Saturday. His best performance for us for a long time, and I was delighted for him. He has earnt the right to carry on alongside Barney. We then still have Revell and Freedman on the bench.

BUT, if someone became available that was better than what we have (Eastwood for example) I think Tilson would bring him in. By having Ridgets on trial, it showed that its an area Tilson thinks we can improve upon.

Simple, after Laurent's injury, do we want/need another striker to come in.
NO! We have enough strikers as it is, with Walker, Revell, Barnard and Freedman as fit strikers, not forgetting that Betsy can play up there as well! So in short, we have enough cover up there. However, if an oppurtunity was to arise to sign a proven goalscorer, I would take it. But we dont NEED another striker in on loan, Laurent looks like he wont be out for too long tbh, so I think the currently fit strikers will be good enough to do the job.

A quick winger please,
But on a slightly different note lee trundle is looking for a club’ now there’s a bag of tricks, and he would consider a drop down to league one.

I notice Charles Ademeno is attracting a bit of attention at Crawley. I was sorry to see him not given more of a chance with us but I wonder if he would have got more games last season if we hadn't signed Theo on loan.
If we sign another forward on loan, it will probably limit the chances for the likes Walker or Calver and result in them going off to prosper elsewhere at the end of the season.
Though if we do sign someone decent on loan I won't be complaining - I reserve the right to have my cake and eat it.
