Difficult Christmas?

I think the next 8 league games could be the the most crucial in how our season pans out. we play some difficult teams as well as some games where we will be favourites. theres a possible 24 points up for grabs, but as much as i hate to be negative, i can't see blues picking up more than 10-12 points. i hope i'm wrong but can't see it. We are already on a bad run but the most worrying thing is if we fail to have a good x-mas, how can we possibly climb the table and aim for play-offs. come on you blues, give us a happy x-mas and a hope for an extended season!

next 8 league games:

hartlepool a draw
northampton h win
mk dons a lose
crewe h win
stockport a lose
yeovil h win
leeds a draw
bristol rovers h win

14 pts being optimistic

next 8 league games being pessimistic

hartlepool a lose
northampton h draw
mk dons a lose
crewe h win
stockport a lose
yeovil h win
leeds a lose
bristol rovers h draw

8 pts being pessimstic

can't see us getting a result against leeds at elland road. i think the dons and stockport will be too much for us aswell

Well if we can get 2 away wins out of them games, and 2 home wins and a draw, we will be back in with a shout of play offs. Hopefully we can pull ourselves together. Cant see us doing Leeds or Mk Dons. A point at stockport would be good too !

UTB!

No we wont, we are 9 points off the play offs now. If we pick up those 13 points from the next 8 games, that means we will be on 40 points.

The bottom placed play off team are on 36 points now, and will be on 47 or 48 points at the very least after 28 games.

Lets face it our season is over unless we can pick up at least 16 or 17 points form the next 8 games, and even then that will only take us back up to the fringes of the play offs.

I'll have a gallon of what you are drinking mate.

Came back from Boston u.s.a. with 2 litres of southern comfort 2 weeks ago and planned to keep them for the christmas and new year festivities. Probably drank half a bottle saturday night to help me get over the game and to warm me up. The rest they say is history. We can all dream harry!.

I came back from Boston, Lincs with the bloody flu.:'(
BTW :offtopic: just had a text from Jaffa & Tank at the O2 tonight expecting to see them at the Bridge in January.

Our season may well be over when considering a play off push, but with our current run of form and slide down the table, it is not beyond the realms of possibility we could get dragged into something at the other end of the table.

Right now, I'd be more concerned as to what's going on behind us as opposed to what's occuring ahead of us.

Incidentally, does anyone know if those next 8 games will include the rearranged fixture with the O's?

IMO, for what it's worth........Impossible to make predictions for anything more than the next three league games. Who knows what the side is going to look like in January?

Very true, a point which I neglected to make when I posted on this thread. Should we bring in a number of quality players in January, then things could change in an instant, and everything in the garden could soon look rosey again.

Oddly enough, I had an extremely vivid dream last night that we won 2-0 at Chelsea, and one of the goals was an Alan McCormack header from a corner..... Beating Chelsea is one thing, but Macca scoring a header from a corner is totally unrealistic!! :)

Stranger things have happened RC! He's not a bad header of the ball to be fair, but is usually one of the two that go back as "last men" when a corner's going on so it'd have to be a heck of a run and jump from the halfway line!

:) Well this is true - But it may explain how he managed to get a header in against John Terry. Stoke have Rory Delap, we now have Macca with 50 yard headers!! :)
