Breaking News Dervite may stay

fbm

Blue tinted optimist⭐🦐
Dervite has enjoyed it here and hasn't ruled out a return next season if he's not involved at Spurs.

Source - Echo.

Only, He will be.

Dawson, Woodgate, King (intermittently, I know) will be ahead of him there and who knows who Harry might bring in ? He's an excellent player, but is he ready for the Premiership yet? Great news in itself that he's declared the interest...

Spurs have Rocha and Corluka who would probably get a game at centre back ahead of Dervite and who knows who Harry will sign in the summer.

Would love to have him back next season. But i'm probably just getting my hopes up the same as last year with Charlie Mulgrew.

Well its not totally unrealistic him coming back. He is only 20 and he is guarenteed games here which is what he needs at his age but I reckon he will go on loan to a championship club however if that doesnt work out i can see him coming back. He is a very good player at this level but he does make a few mistakes but they go unnoticed in this league. But if he makes the same mistakes in the championship he will get punished.

Would love to have him here thats for sure but I can not for one second see him anywhere but the ccc next season(if not at spurs)

Yeah, even if he does want to come back, Spurs may want him to develop further by going to a CCC club and could refuse our request to have him back.

He won't be anywhere near the Spurs first team next season, but they'll definitely be looking to get him on loan to a CCC side.

I think people are hugely underestimating Dervite's value and reputation within the Spurs set up...

He's an U21 International for a leading nation. He only came to us to regain match fitness and sharpness after suffering a cruciate ligament injury and is very highly rated by Tottenham. The only Centre Backs ahead of Dervite are King, Woodgate and Dawson and, with the Prem now warranting 7 subs on the bench (Not to mention the incoming rule where a number of those have to be youths trained by the club), Dervite will certainly be on the fringes.

My source is from within Spurs, they really didn't know how he would recover from his cruciate injury, they saw potential and he's always been a big strong lad but they were happy to let him come here on loan to get some footy experience and also to slim down a little bit. My source reckons he'll be going on loan next season (probably to a CCC club), but you right in that Dervite could well be required to make the bench if Harry doesn't get in 1 or two more centre backs.

I'm not entirely sure just how much money 'Arry is going to have to work with...

With their stadium renovation starting next season, and Joe Lewis losing a fair amount with the recession, not to mention the money spent in January, it'll be interesting to see what they have.

Rocha is still on their books and Corluka can play CB, I'm sure Harry is looking to improve their defense and he'll have a bit of money to play with. Dervite isn't the only quality defender coming through at Spurs...

your source better play for us sunday and help us win the sunday 5 aside title!! hes more valuable to us than dervitte for southend!!

hes said dervitte does love it at southend, and is in the shape of his life at the moment! fingers crossed!!

All the more reason for us to show him how much we value him tomorrow then, if he was to go back to Spurs and tell Redknapp he'd prefer to come back here if he is to go out on loan next season you never know what might happen. Both he and Redknapp obviously realise that playing in L1 won't affect his French U21 place, infact it was playing in L1 that got him into the U21's in the first place!

I'm not saying he'll definitely be back here next season but we have to do everything we can tomorrow to let Dorian know we'd love him to return if the chance arises. It wouldn't be such a bad idea for Spurs anyway, he's only 20 and can afford another year (or even another 3 months if they'd prefer) on loan in L1. He'll get games at a higher level next season with the U21's anyway whilst also being guaranteed a place in our side every week.

just look at sawyer, should have come back here rather the going CCC.

plus redknapp has a good relationship with our club, i think he loaned us and then sold us christophe. and if anyone can do it tilly can.

All 3 of them are like Barnard. Good news that he might come back but it could be 50:50 whether he will be playing there next season.

In addition to the names already mentioned Spurs have also been happy to use Huddlestone in defence, a position that I think he has far greater potential in due to his lack of mobility.

My gut feeling is that Dervite will probably go out on loan again next year, but that Spurs will naturally look to secure the best deal possible with regard to the development of an immensely talented young player. Whether we get a look in may well come down to how much of a say Dorian has in his destination. We've been incredibly lucky to benefit from the service that we have from him - only Richard Jobson comes close in terms of quality of centre-back we've taken on loan during my time as a fan.
