Demetriou: Blues now have sights set on top two finish

After the Scunthorpe match the very knowledgeable Paul Clark, in his post match summary on BBC Essex, was concerned that after the game the players and management were celebrating as if they had just been crowned champions. He recalled that the last time they did this was after they had beaten Colchester a year earlier remembering what happened in the rest of the season after that game. His comment was "you have not won anything yet lads so keep your feet on the ground". Clearly they did not heed his advice.

To be fair to Vale they hardly parked the bus in the first half and we were bloody lucky not to be a couple of goals behind at HT.

Every oppertunity they got they were wasting time, goal kicks, throw ins, took an embarrassing amount of time and the referee was happy to let them do it until late on.

I wasnt just talking about Vale though. We've been poor in recent games against Gillingham and Northampton, 2 sides way below us in the table and we failed to break them down as they knew how to stifle us. There still doesn't seem to be much of a plan B

Saturday we were poor, but the players know that.

Other sides at the top with us are also stuttering a little. Bradford City, Oxford United, Rochdale and even Millwall at times (drawing 0-0 with Oldham and Chesterfield recently).

Macca coming back to fitness and another week's rest for Ferdy and we'll be back up for Saturday!

Still alive going up must not lose now .I would prefer John white back now he is better defender and have demmi in front of him or O'Neil

was it just poor play, poor service on Saturday or do you think Fortune could do with a week of/on the subs bench. Nothing was sticking. Not blaming Fortune but a recharging of the batteries could help
