Demetriou: Blues now have sights set on top two finish

I think automatic is a bit unrealistic. Sheffield United are as good as up so it would take Scunthorpe or Bolton to have a pretty bad run. Fleetwood also in very good form. But we'll see, a lot can happen in 13 games. Incidentally I notice that Fleetwood's next two games after this weekend are Scunthorpe and Bolton, so that could change things.

I do think we should set our sights that high, but not be disappointed if we don't quite achieve them. It's a more than decent second prize and handy, financially, as well.

The other thing is that, as has been alluded to already, elsewhere, the sides above us will drop points against each other and if we can beat Bolton on 4th April, then the last few matches could be massive.

I love that the players are thinking the automatics are possible.

He better learn how to defend instead of being in the opposition's box every time they launch a counter attack then.

Hope so as I put money on back in November!

As much as I would like this to happen, I have to say I think your money is spent.

Bolton and Scunthorpe have games in hand on us. Ignoring Scunthorpe for the time being. If Bolton win their games in hand they'll be on 64 points. For us to finish 2nd we therefore have to gain 11 more points than them in just 13 matches (and hope the other teams between us and them don't). And that will only bring us level with them. I reckon that would be enough because for us to gain 11 points on them our goal difference will almost certainly be better than their's.

I know we have to play Bolton at home, but that will only gain us 3 of those 11 points.

I just think we've left it too late for the automatics. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

That's covered though, as when he bombs forward, Lenny and Will cover him, hence why hardly any goals have come down our right hand side, this season.

Usually yes, but not with McGlashan in front of him as has been the case the last fortnight, and both of Northampton's goals came down the right.

I agree and that's why McGl and Tims were swapped over at Oxford.

Demetriou is better going forward than defending, but he does well enough defensively for it not to be a major issue, for me and our system of cover allows him the freedom. It's quite interchangeable.

I think only the first Northampton goal came down the right, in fairness.

I think that as it was Demitrou's push that gave the free kick away , the implication was that it was his side.

Centre-field that free-kick was and the ball delivered in was from the Northampton right, as that was where Cox was shoved in the back, on the halfway line, towards the West Bank.

We should be only two points behind Bolton by tonight. I can't see Sheff Utd failing to beat them this afternoon.

Of course, we've got to beat the Gills......

So did I, but I haven't seen any highlights showing the incident, so assumed others were more in the know than me.

He needs to set his sights on attacking the opposition left back when he's got the ball going forward intheir half instead of keep stopping and going backwards!!!
