For you young whippersnappers wondering who is Linda Lewis?
She was an Eastender, with a five octave range.

And what was the club .Linda Lewis.
"In 1964, she sang "Dancing in the Street" with John Lee Hooker at a club in Southend-on-Sea ..." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda_Lewis)
You never told me this, Cricko.
I don't know. I'm hoping that Cricko might remember. And what was the club .
You've let yourself down Phil. We've now got one on here saying he hopes he gets cancer, and you hoping he dies.Late entry for 2023 - hopefully I'll get one right from my selection.....

Not me. I've never entered this competition, if that's the word. I certainly comment after a famous person has died.I would argue one relinquishes the moral high ground as soon as one starts start betting on peoples deaths.
Completely..I would argue one relinquishes the moral high ground as soon as one starts start betting on peoples deaths.
Phil, if you mean me, I haven't done a death wish list. You've explained it was a poor taste joke, that should be the end of it. I apologise publicly for upsetting you, and look forward to more of your posts.Completely..
So easy for people to jump on the band wagon on what was clearly a joke (allbeit admittedly bad taste - on a bad taste thread) when they have listed a death wish list themselves. I find it a bit hypocritical to be honest. Anyway, have a good summer people. I'm done with this site for a while, got bigger things to worry about.
Not at all .... I do my researchPhil, if you mean me, I haven't done a death wish list. You've explained it was a poor taste joke, that should be the end of it. I apologise publicly for upsetting you, and look forward to more of your posts.
And I would counter argue that if this thread offends you then give it a wide berth instead of expecting people to join you on your very moral high ground.I would argue one relinquishes the moral high ground as soon as one starts start betting on peoples deaths.
I never said it offended me.And I would counter argue that if this thread offends you then give it a wide berth instead of expecting people to join you on your very moral high ground.
For what it’s worth Mr Phil I saw the humor in your post .
I’m no expert on anything but as far as I know it’s the second time you have expressed a negative option on the fact this thread exists which obviously is a valid opinion but if this thread doesn’t offend you why feel the need to post negative comments about it.I never said it offended me.
In the misty past,I once waited downstairs in the STUDIO as rumour was John Lee Hooker was coming after a gig in Ipswich. Any connection or just a co incidence?I don't know. I'm hoping that Cricko might remember.
I don't know, Growler. There could be a connection if he was touring over here back in '64.In the misty past,I once waited downstairs in the STUDIO as rumour was John Lee Hooker was coming after a gig in Ipswich. Any connection or just a co incidence?
Might have been Shades which I think was along that parade at the top of Pier Hill. My mum used to get in there around that time and she mentioned they had live music.I don't know, Growler. There could be a connection if he was touring over here back in '64.
Just found this > https://www.guitarplayer.com/players/watch-john-lee-hooker-bringing-the-blues-to-london-in-1964 < indicating that he was in London in March '64.
