Deadpool 2024

Referee Uriah Rennie who took charge of our most iconic night at Roots Hall against an Alex Ferguson Manchester United side has sadly died
We played Brighton at home a couple of weeks before the Man U game. Rennie took charge and IIRC didn't blow for a foul in the first 15 mins or so. In the Man U game every time we touched one of their players they fell over expecting a free kick. It really brought home the way referees were expected to officiate differently when it came to PL teams, And I don't think it got any better.

Another vote for Day of the Jackal.Always remember seeing the film in Brum with my Brummie girlfriend when some bloke in the audience had an epiletic fit,.Not nice.Caught up with the book some years later,A good read.

Brian Wilson. One of the greats.

RIP indeed.Saw the BB's first gig in rhe UK at the Finsbury parK Odeon (without BW) (later the Astoria ) in the 60's ,As a teenager I much preferred their music to that of contempories The Beatles or the Stones.A sad loss..https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/jun/11/brian-wilson-beach-boys-dies
