She'd been ill for some time, I didn't particularly like her, but no doubting her great ability to create characters and scripts that the British public love. The Royle Family was brilliant. RIP Caroline.
 
Yes she survived eye cancer & bladder cancer, but died of lung cancer.

i never really rated her as a stand up comedian or in the fast show, but I did enjoy ripping apart celebs in her role as Mrs Merton, and thought the Royle family was one of the best sit coms of recent times (if for anything, the fact it was just filmed in one living room) unlike other comedies that move the set about.
 
Alan Vega of the electronic music art gods Suicide died last night at the age of 78 in his sleep. I saw them in 1988 and didn't understand it. Saw them in 2015 - a celebration rather than a gig - he could barely stand.
I was watching LCD Soundsystem play to around 50,000 last night and if the news had come through soon enough I'm sure they would have done their Suicide cover.....and been bottled off in true Suicide style.
