#MUFC have issued a hands off warning to clubs interested in Howard Webb. #deadlineday

Suarez is unproven in the Premier$hite though.

Will he be able to handle the rough and tough, the cold and the language? With Carroll you know that's not an issue.

You also need to consider how long both are under contract for at their current clubs, their ages and their wages.

Yeah probably wasn't the best comparison to be honest.

Not sure about the language, is there a Geordie to Scouse phrase book?

Looks like Tilly's been busy...

1501: DONE DEAL Forget Stamford Bridge, it's all happening at Sincil Bank at the monment. Following their extension of Gavin Hoyte's loan deal earlier, BBC Lincolnshire reports that the Imps have signed striker Scott Spencer on a free transfer until the end of the season following his departure from Southend last week, and they have also snapped up ex-Millwall man Ali Fuseini, who has signed until 2012. Fuseini had recently been playing for Lewes in the Blue Square South."

That is utterly extraordinary. £35m?! Lunacy.

As much as I'm inclined to agree, a Carroll/Suarez partnership looks incredibly effective on paper and, with them being 22 and 24 respectively, it's one that has the potential to develop and flourish for the next six, seven or eight years providing everybody's happy. A 4-4-2 built around Meireles and Gerrard in the middle, with Suarez and Carroll up top, could even pass for something out of the top four... Which would be a huge feat for mid-table Liverplol.

So Spurs have gone from Andy Carroll, to Sergio Aguero, to Louis Saha, and all in the space of 24 hours.

Brilliant.

Saha is a cheap option who would be available for the Champions League. They can then work out who to bring in in the Summer. I think he's at least as good as the three strikers they've already got.

Wonder how much of the £35m is performance based? If it was 20m up front, with 5m after 20 goals for liverpool and 10m after 10 goals for england then could be seen as a better deal.

Might be worth seeing if you can stick a few £ on Charlie Adam to Manchester United... Social network feeds seem to be awash with strong rumours promoting that transfer.

Andy Carroll has fewer career goals than millions about to be spent on him.

So did Rooney.

It looks like a lot, but I've only seen him the once so I can't really judge. It's probably worth noting that in his last five games he's scored against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea. If he can repeat that sort of goalscoring form against the big boys over the next decade, that's money well spent.

When Blackburn signed Shearer and Chelsea Drogba (two similarly powerful forwards) everyone thought they'd overspent and they turned out to be fantastic investments. So whilst I'm sceptical, the jury's out for me.

Gone to 1/4 now so not much point.

Telegraph sources seem to think it's too late in the day as well.

Caulkin at the Times is now reporting that Newcastle have rejected Liverpool's improved approach for Carroll, which is equally as ludicrous.
