I've always said that managing and coaching that way works at lower levels but the higher up you go, the egos get bigger, and you lose the dressing room eventually.

PB hasn't changed though. Something isn't working, go and sign someone else. That solution comes unstuck eventually. You can't keep doing that.

I agree to some point, but premier league players are pampered and don’t like their fragile egos hurt, so something has to give x

I don't even think it's exclusive to the PL. It's filtered down even lower now. I agree with you wholeheartedly, but it's just the way the game has gone.

Locking players in the changing room (Swindon away) is a thing of the past now.
