Quite a difference from this time last year, 2-0 defeat in darkest dartford and all was woe and gloom. Of course no one remembers too much about these games come the end of the season but to start with a win after a long summer with no footy has still cheered me up this evening.

I don't ever recall us doing what Sturrock had done this year, getting loads of trialists in all at once...having a couple here and there doesn't really help, but to have 30 odd at once gives massive scope. Sturrock has played a blinder here and to get the likes of Rohan Ricketts on trial is impressive. I thnik we could get a few good players in and really make promotion a reality.

At 18 and havubg done an ok job at Plymouth an ideal understudy to Clohessy?

He is certainly a lad with a fair bit of talent. At 18 he came in and played a number of positions he was unfamiliar with and always performed extremely well - that was in the Southern Premier league. Quick, solid defender who loves to get forward. As a full back he reminds me a little of Simon Francis. Would love to see him make it with the blues.

Dont want to jinx him but I had Ryan Leonard when I was manager at Vauxhall Motors and despite initial promise he was ****. had to let him go and he drifted out the game. Hope Sturrock reads this.
