Darlo, Now this is a passionate forum post

The thing I find most bizarre about this is that at the same time Darlo and Kettering announce their troubles Weymouth, not even 5th tier, are talking about going pro.

This is precisely why I'm nervous about our current squad size and outgoings. If you were to take the emotion and ego out of football in this country how many professional clubs would you actually need. He says top two divisions only with stricter rules on balance sheet management and for those rich kids wanting football as a plaything, let them do it in an elite world league of their own. The fans would soon get bored. Football is still riding the crest of a Sky wave. If that breaks there will be more than just these two in immediate trouble.

No axe to grind with either of these clubs, or to be honest the fans of any clubs in the poo apart from, naturally, Leeds.

I'm delighted that Darlington are able to continue, hopefully for far longer than the 3 games but i can't help that feel it might've been kinder to let them slip away gracefully and enable the fans to regroup and go again re: Wimbledon, Aldershot, Chester & Halifax .. the club is beset by debt, playing in a ground totally unsuitable, Darlington Town playing back at Feethams
