Danny Granville

My mate is a massive Palace fan and when I told him we were afer him he said 'oh' and when he signed for Colchester today he said your lucky. He isn't all that, always injured and just not upto Championship level let alone League 1.

And what does he say about Black?

Good player but again shame he was plagued with injury, can be a really good player if he stays fit.

Cheers.

Hopefully he will stay fit. With the players we have in midfield, I can see Black being used as an affective sub rather than a player that will start many games.

i can see him ousting JCR from the starting line up when fit because we will actually see some end product from him!

I'm sure it's the same everywhere that a team's rivals will dismiss the other's signings as no good.

However, the fans have to trust their respective manager's judgements on individuals and hope that they can mould them into a team to achieve their aims for the coming season.

I think Bailey will be decent for you (and is on my FM game!) and I am also looking forward to seeing Connolly for us, as many Arsenal fans seem to rate him highly.

I'd take Granville but none of their other signings. Sheringham might be able to do a job at league 1 or 2 but in the championship? doubt it. We were rumoured to be after Granville a long time ago and I think what people are saying about him is slighty fuel by jealousy, Platt, Sheringham and Guttermidget aren't though

That is more than likely true. I think Yeats is a good signing, however in losing Cureton & Iwelumo you have lost 45 goals from last season, that partnership was the prime reason you did so well, and deservedly so. IMO Platt & Sheringham will not get you 45 goals, and I doubt that they will get 20, but will be happy to be proved wrong.

After losing Freddy Eastwood we also have the same problem of scoring enough goals. MacDonald is untried & unproven at this level, the rest in honesty don't look as if they have 10 goals between them.

Yeates is a good signing, Granville should be OK if he can be kept fit and Sheringham will be great if he can be paired with a striker in the Cureton mould who can play on the shoulder of the last defender. Platt's not really that sort of player and I think he's a panic buy, to be honest. Guttridge is the riskiest acquisition of the lot. Good player if his head is right but by all accounts is a bit of a nutter and a potentially disruptive influence on the dressing room, as we found out.

Overall, I think Col U are in for a very tough second season.

Matt, you're a sensible and sane chap, and as a mucker of Scriv's we have plenty of time for you on these boards.

I'm afraid to say, however, that leopards don't change their spots... and that Guttridge is a poisonous dwarf. And, as I say, don't just take my word for it - speak to fans of Orient, Cambridge or Torquay.

He has talent, for sure, but that talent is overshadowed by his appalling attitude problem. It'll be great until Christmas, and then he'll start to cause trouble.

Don't say we didn't warn you, that's all.

Matt

Sort his attitude out and you will have a quality player there!
