Dan Harding?

Fish

Manager
Was talking to an Ipswich fan yesterday who was sure that Dan Harding is available on a free out of contract this summer. We should go for him; whether Clarkey stays or goes, Barrett is likely to be the partner at CB anyway (we won't get Dervite next season), which means we need someone for Johnny Herd to compete with.

Harding was very solid at left back for us and certainly has an eye for a decent free kick around the box too.

He's not getting football at Ipswich, and I can't see Reading wanting him if they made the Premiershite?

I'd snap him up. I'd imagine other teams will be looking at him and i think he would have to take a wage cut to join us.

Was very consistent at left back, very good left foot on his aswell.

I can't see us getting him TBH, think a smaller championship club could snap him up, someone like Plymouth, Blackpool or Donny

Would love to sign him up, but his wages will be the problem again. He was rumoured to be on a far whack at Ipswich.

Quality player but don't think he will want to come back to us permenantly. Would love to be proved wrong however but there will be several clubs ahead of us looking to sign him, that is for certain.

the positive thing with harding was that he stated himself that he enjoyed his time here very much and hinted that he would be happy to come back here. Of course wages would be the major obstacle, but its a local move for him and he must know he would be first choice at left back.

In today's economic climate with many clubs cutting their playing staff, he, like many footballers, may not get too many offers in the close season. We will have the advantage that he's already played for us and we're not too far from Ipswich.

Tilly would not want competition for his pal Barrett. I can't see us signing a left back for this reason alone, especially that Dorian proved that Barrett is not good (big)enough in the centre.

Quality player for this level and would be a fantastic signing, but then that leaves you with the dillemma, where does Barrett play? Back to centre back, alongside Clarke again? I for one wouldn't like to be the manager on this one.

Cracking little player, and I certainly wouldn't say no - but as others have mentioned - wages?

He will have to take a cut, but how much of a cut is the question.

Absolute rubbish!

You could argue that Barratt played in a team which won league 1 so he is too good for this league.

He is on loan at Reading. Played for them against Birmingham last weekend and has played the majority of games since he has been there. If he goes anywhere he would be going there.

No problem with them paying his CCC wages.

He's only played 3 games there and if Reading go up I think they're have higher targets than Dan Harding, no dis respect but he's not Premiership quality.

But he got substituted after 56 minutes in their game against Birmingham on Sunday. A colleague of mine who's a Reading season ticket holder said it was because he was absolute rubbish!

So he hardly made a good impression on Steve Coppell on the big stage.

He was dubbed because he'd been ill all week.
