It's also because they are usually able to control the ball better, meaning they have the ball under control quicker, thus giving them more time on the ball.

Personally I always thought Cantona was the best at this. He often had the ball under control before he had even touched it purely by how he positioned his body.

Plus the pass they receive is totally different from league 2 standard,at our level the pass is either driven out wide travelling at pace which gives the receiver zero chance of control or the ball is thumped in their general direction at throat height which again offers them no chance.

Seen Cantona on tape and he was a god amongst mortals.

Incorrect. Its down to better players having a far better first touch.

Of course, but the top players read the game better which enables them to receive the ball in space thus giving them time to get their head up and either make the superior pass or shoot at goal.

Look at Sterling's goal, firstly the pass was sublime to him which was sublime because the delivering player had time to see the picture,Sterling's first touch was utter class and his quick feet were better .

If a player needs to look up after receiving the ball, they shouldn't be playing at the top level.

I'm guessing you didn't see Porto's high pressing against Bayern last night. Porto's 2nd goal came from pressuring Dante's first touch and giving him no time on the ball. For all Bayern's passing, they are not the same side without Ribery and Robben, who are able to run and commit defenders.
