Certainly hard to feel positive about the club at the mo. I still believe we should give PB the chance to get his preferred first 11 on the pitch (all at the same time) but if we're now saying Timlin & Wordsworth may be out for longer I agree we can't wait forever. I'm not keen on PB's policy of relying on players because they used to be good or cost a lot once upon a time, I feel its sending us down a road that will end in tears. I've said before, give him until the end of October & if no improvement then he has to go. And he should be replaced with someone who has history succeeding on a shoestring budget, someone who gets the best out of players instead of demoralising them by his negative comments in the press. Personally I wouldn't go for Sir Chrissy, love him as I do, as he doesn't fit the bill for us management wise. Someone like Danny Cowley, or if experience is prefered, Gary Johnson, no matter how much he may be disliked on here. We need someone who would see the job as a step up from where they are, not a last resort because no one else will have them.

There are certainly some alternative examples , Barnsley steaming ahead currently determine to not sign anyone over the age of 24. I suppose normal practice implies a balance between youth and experience. We have done quite well in the past with older, thought to be past their best signings as well like Goater, Edwards etc. Port Vale with a Foreign Manager have brought in 13 new players from abroad, ( mostly no fee) Peterborough have made a fortune from poaching from the Lower leagues. We seem to have lost our imagination, remember Frank Lapper ?

Tomorrow for me is key. A win and some pride restored and hope raised. A draw and a good performance and the jury is out. A loss and a good performance and it would be against a tough outfit. An abject defeat and for me it's Browns last game in charge. The ball is firmly in the manager/ teams court and they need to produce. Best foot forward and all that.
