Official Match Thread Crewe 3-4 Southend United

Blimey! Could've sworn I just heard BBC Essex claim they have live coverage of our game from 3pm.

Sure I must be wrong! or drunk.

I'm feeling a 3-1 win too.

Hoping the clean sheet last week went some way to curing the shakes at the back, and we must be due to convert some chances soon.

Bit worried about the Collis factor, assuming he starts. Bound to pull off wonder save after wonder save..... :stunned:

oh sh*t walker on the wing again! and no keeper on the bench!!!

Good to see Walker keeping his place.

I'm not overly concerned about not having a keeper on the bench. I can think of two games where we needed a keeper on the bench and didn't have one there, and we won both games. I can also think of Steve Brown going in goal for Charlton against us and keeping a clean sheet, and Luton having an one-armed keeper who didn't concede a goal.

The game everyone talks about with keepers getting injured is the game that Peter Taylor went in goal - this was 35 years ago. If it costs one game every 35 years, I'll take that risk.
