COSU

Calls for patience seem to be based on hope rather than realism. Maher's management has run its course. He no longer appears to have the motivational qualities required to get the best out of what on paper at least is a decent enough squad to at least make the playoffs. His media appearances show he is in denial, hiding behind spurious 'data' and refusing to acknowledge his own responsibility for the poor performances and results this season. The evidence is piling up that it's time for COSU to act now. Not to do so is just putting off the inevitable.
I agree my hopes for patience are very much based on hope. Is not an assumption that things can only improve with a change of management also based on hope?
Hope is the currency of football supporters!

Of course a change of management guarantees nothing but at least it provides an opportunity to turn things around, whereas sticking to a failed regime negates any reason for optimism, Imho.

Does anyone actually know how deep cosu pockets are? We are all very grateful for the takeover and saving the club but do they really have what it rakes and the financial power to move us forward? All I can see right now is they are very limited in the financial area as all we seem to do is sign players from the lower leagues or players who are past it? Wè need to be signing players from leagues above and to do that we have to pay out good money to get these players and pay them league 1 and 2 wages,it's the only way we are going to get out of this awful league! arabim pepple wanted to play at a higher level for his world cup chances but surely if cosu had made luton a decent offer let's say £300,000 and paid pepple £1500 a week he would have stayed with us! This is what we need to do if we are going to get better players through the door.At the end of the day money talks but right now I'm really not sure if cosu has what it takes to take us forward! U can say what u like about ron martin but at least he did put his hand in his pocket and get good players in and pay decent wages!
Agreed fully with what you said up to the last sentence. Now if you'd said RM put his hand in other people's pockets etc.

I have stated that if COSU dont pull the trigger on Maher and very quickly it wil show on STH revenue and falling attendances etc, this in the long run will hurt them as they will lose more money than it costs to keep Maher on. Give the reins to Currie for the rest off the season lets see what tune he can get from the players before they decide to rid themselves of them. Currie did well when in charge of Barnet took them to the playoffs and played some decent attacking football . If JS had anything to do with the players Maher has signed he can go too. but no reason to dismiss Currie or Benno let them take the reins until seasons end, lets see if they can play a decent tune with these players .
Might be an idea but I think there’s a chance the other two might decide to leave to Stewart.

Well he did get us to the championship and kept us in leagues 1 and 2 for years. He did back managers and pay decent wages! If u look at the team steve tilson was gifted by ron which got us back to back promotions and beating man utd with arguably the best player to have put on a shirt and in his pomp then I'd say Ron's period was fairly successful! If cosu don't put up then they will be gone.
What time period do you measure success over? Was Ron's ownership successful? Is COSU's terrible?

He also presided over dumping us into the situation we are now in, first of all feathering his own nest at the expense of the Club and it's survival and then watching his employees not get paid. Were it not for COSU, the hard work of supporters and the Council this club would no longer exist thanks to that arsehole.

The word gifted is a bit far fetched, if you recall Tilly got on with the job when Ron was after anyone to be manager , might be wrong but I think Collymore was being touted , and all the time Tilly got on with the role.
The penny then dropped after many turned him down and Tilly/ Brush brought in a new golden era not seen in years
So gifted is wrong, they earned that accolade the hard way and like Maher doesn’t take long to turn on them when results went against them

Didn't Ron also ruin the Tilly era by not paying the players for periods of time? Sure Tilly mentioned it on one his podcasts recently

My memory of those days is somewhat different.....players were brought into the club at decent wages which were usually but not always paid and then maybe not on time. In the meantime creditors were ignored and the there was nothing left for the upkeep of the stadium let alone any renovations. We are now required to be thrifty because of the excesses of the Ron era.
In truth in a way we are still paying the wages of the high earners from those years.
