COSU

Does anyone actually know how deep cosu pockets are? We are all very grateful for the takeover and saving the club but do they really have what it rakes and the financial power to move us forward? All I can see right now is they are very limited in the financial area as all we seem to do is sign players from the lower leagues or players who are past it? Wè need to be signing players from leagues above and to do that we have to pay out good money to get these players and pay them league 1 and 2 wages,it's the only way we are going to get out of this awful league! arabim pepple wanted to play at a higher level for his world cup chances but surely if cosu had made luton a decent offer let's say £300,000 and paid pepple £1500 a week he would have stayed with us! This is what we need to do if we are going to get better players through the door.At the end of the day money talks but right now I'm really not sure if cosu has what it takes to take us forward! U can say what u like about ron martin but at least he did put his hand in his pocket and get good players in and pay decent wages!

Their stated aim is to get the club sustainable in the long term and reduce the losses in the short term. If you're expecting them to do a Wrexham you're going to be very disappointed.

The owners of COSU can change, and indeed I think JR has said he would expect it to change, over time. If that leads to a change of view who knows, but I'd be more concerned that there wouldnt be a club to support if we went spending cash that we didnt have

How on earth anyone can dig out COSU is beyond me. Its ridiculous. They spent millions before they even owned the club. Continue to sell out millions on historical debt and RH renovations. But yeah I'm sad we didn't spunk 300k on pepple.
They have made funds available for players.
But let's focus on not spunking 300k I believe the OP said on pepple.
The levels of Entitlement on here has reached new heights.
It's embarrassing and everything I hate about modern football tbh.
Here's an idea you become a successful businessman amass a decent amount of money then happily blow it on a football player or two.
None of them are abramovich types.

I agree but u neeed to spend cash if

Well we won't be getting out of the national league anytime soon because money buys success and maher can't do his job with players who aren't good enough! Yes maher is poor but the players at his disposal are poorer.

This is Shrimpet Steve you're talking about. He has been known to post stuff that sounds a bit ridiculous on a long term regular basis. That said, he's quite good at Taxis to be fare!

I'm not digging out COSU and I'm very grateful for saving the club but I guess your happy to stay in the worst league in the world and pay good money to watch a poor standard of play and even worse players. The players we have are not good enough and we are miles off it! Supporters want wins and to get wins u have to spend money! U can't keep shopping in the bargain basement and expect success.Tell me ? Is what I'm saying ridiculous or the truth?

I've not got a bad word to say about COSU - they saved the club, have put millions into servicing debt and are trying to improve Roots Hall.

My only issue is they are great businessmen, but there is no sentimentality in business and they are being just that by keeping Kev.

At this rate I can see gates dropping by over 1000 next season, the football is turgid, our manger is obsessed with tippy tappy across the back line Guardiola crap, but without Guardiola level players to execute it.

Yesterday I realised the Kev may actually be deluded, we have been playing well witn the 3 up top, we play a bottom team and revert back to 2 and we revert to being crap again.

COSU have to pull the trigger soon, or they too will look as clueless as Kev

Genuinely bored and tired of reading these comments about COSU's financial situation.

Nobody, and literally nobody outside of COSU will know the exact budget. There is no one that can confirm if its the recruitment team taking too long or COSU not spending.

I find it too hard to believe COSU dont have funds for transfers, they would have planned for all of this even further into the future. COSU are not the issue here at all, just recruitment reluctant to go in for certain players

If you don't like it, stop going. It's very simple, do the things you enjoy in life and reduce the things you don't like.

That was just an example! But right now all we are doing is finding players who haven't played at this level and taking an absolute punt on them being good enough! unless your eyes are closed they quite clearly aren't.

I enjoy watching and following southend united!
