Was in the pub yesterday and I noticed that hardly any men washed their hands properly, if at all. This virus is going to spread like wildfire isn't it?

I never use the toilet without washing my hands after, like you obviously. So I've never understood the high percentage that don't wash their hands. Now with the potentially deadly virus about, you would finally expect a lot more of them to wash their hands, but no, nothing seems to have changed. Shocking really.

Yes agree totally. Parents will still have to earn at work so who looks after young children, the grandparents perhaps? The very people at high risk. I agree that things are being delayed but that is the most sensible thing to be doing. You can't shut down the country for months on end it's impractical and impossible to enforce. Staggering reaction is the right thing to do and will give services a chance to cope.
Other reacting and panic are the biggest enemies here ATM.

On the contrary countries like Spain/France etc have looked at what's happened in China,Italy etc and realised that the time to take action against the virus is now before the Corona virus gets out of control. That is what "will give services a chance to cope" in the near future.

Unless all countries in the world had took the exact same strategy with this, which could not have happened as it has spread across the globe rather than land all over it at the same time, it could hang around for God knows how long.

The World and us are in for a long ride I feel.

My son has been tested so I am now officially required to self isolate.

I am installing emulation software on my Raspberry Pi so I can retro game the week away.

We have a special room dedicated on The Zone for our members who have to self isolate.

If you could just pop your clothes off @MK Shrimper will meet you in the safe zone over there>>>>>>>>>??

if you leave the pub without touching eyes nose, mouth etc and then wash hands when you get home then you will slow down infection. I wonder if that pub you were in properly cleans door handles and taps?
It‘s impossible to stop the spread without shutting the country down. It’s going to spread, we need to accept it.
I’d still like to know why this SARS has infected so many more countries than the outbreak in 2003

And that is the bottom line in all of this.

That is exactly why the WHO has questioned the UK's "herd immunisation" strategy. It's really not a good idea to try and go it alone on this one.

Yes but nobody can predict accurately in any country when the peak will be.That's the real problem

Never could understand why anyone would dip into the peanuts/crisps etc. found in dishes at the bar either

Northern Ireland's First Minister, Arlene Foster, has just said that when NI closes their schools it will be for a minimum of 16 weeks... Think we're in for a long haul.
