Yeah, it’s a **** situation. Obviously I wouldn’t want anyone to lose their job over it.

What’s the atmosphere like at your place? I guess a lot of people will be worried right now. Have you had any communication from the top brass?

Words you are very familiar with in Grays. :Hilarious:

I would have thought airlines will want to be flying here for Easter.Rob Noxious is due here at the beginning of April just after the Ipswich away game.

Well, the rumour mill is suggesting that the Easter break back here, would be an ideal time for a shutdown.

All eyes on the developments from today’s COBRA meeting.

One thing is for certain, this is going to get a lot worse, before it gets any better.

Saw on the net earlier (athough not of course confirmed here at the LFB officialy) that all schools in Catalonia will be closed from tomorrow. That's an early Easter break for me.

The place is dead, very few flights going in and out with very few people on board.

They don’t seem too concerned and say they’ve got through similar situations. I do get worried though, the jet Centre is very busy though as a lot of people are flying private.

I got my haircut today and the bloke before me was a paramedic and he said (to the barber) that you've got more chance of being killed in a car crash than by this virus, and he included the elderly in that. Huge over reaction by the world?

Entire countries are being quarantined but some bloke in the barbers knows better.i

I doubt he was just getting a trim on his way to brief Cobra.

Why? Thousands die every day of something other than Covid19 but yet the world has gone insane over it?

People do indeed die of many other things and health services etc are stretched enough so the last thing anyone needs is an unknown disease, with potential to mutate, which has potential to spread rapidly and overwhelm the NHS who would quite like to focus on other things, thanks very much. It's worse than flu, which is unpleasant even for the fit and healthy.

This has not even started in the UK yet. It will spread exponentially. I actually think most people are just going about their day to day at the moment, not panicking and quite rightly but if you have seen the stories from Italy and China, there will be a lot of disruption in the coming months. But nothing that will cause most people anything other than inconvenience.

Unfortunately, plenty of people not lucky enough to have a fully functioning immune system or good health will die. If we don't prepare adequately, more people will die because the health service will be overwhelmed and that means if you have a stroke or a heart attack over the next few months your chances of survival will be much less. Everyone has a part to play in it. Italy actually reacted quite quickly but because one bloke slipped the net and went round seeing loads of people, they're now dealing with about 20,000 confirmed cases (estimates are that the numbers are likely to be six or seven times the official numbers, so probably about 120,000 plus)

I have a three year old son with diabetes and while I'm not queuing up for bog roll in Asda, or sitting indoors with a mask on, I am following it closely.

I've just watched Boris's latest press conference and we have moved to the 'Delay' phase now. On the question of numbers, currently the offical number with the virus is 500+, but the CMO reckoned there could be as many as 10,000 with the virus at this time in the UK. He also reported that we are about to start the sharp climb to the peak.

As more and more testing is now being done the number of confirmed cases will rise - as you say, there are probably loads of people who have it or have recovered from it without actually being diagnosed.

If you look back to 2014/15 winter deaths increased by around 43000 from the previous year in the uk . No mass hysteria... I don’t get it , 10 dead at the moment am I missing something ?Can somebody tell me why my pensions down 20% and base rates down to .25%?

because this virus has the potential to complete overwhelm our health services.

In Italy patients have been left to suffocate to death at home and in hospitals as there were no spare ICU beds and ventilators. Our NHS is already at full capacity, we're not prepared for the scale of hospitalisations that appear likely in the coming weeks.

The mortality rate isn't 0 in younger people as well. Doctors in their 30's exposed to the virus have died. The currently exponential growth in this country and around many parts of the world is a real concern.

Pretty scary stuff . I’m a cynic though. Why are our figures so out of sync ? it’s not as if there’s no social media sites reporting mass infections and deaths compared to govt figures.Im high risk asthmatic so I should be really worried. I’m not though ,hope I’m right

1,000 people have died in Italy. Many countries are seeing their mortality rates doubling over a few days. General consensus is that we’re a few weeks behind Italy in terms of the outbreak. Hopefully we’ve bought ourselves some time to get plans together.

Mikel Arteta has it now!
That could finish Arsenal’s trophy hunt??
