Corbett

The official SMS regarding this matter claimed that the last injuries Corbett was suffering from were 'bad headaches'.

I'm not suggesting he is injury prone but this does suggest the rumour that Corbett injured himself chewing a Toffo whilst at Blackburn has an element of truth about it......

I'm disappointed to see him leave, but fully understand the reasons behind it.

He was an extremely talented player and could have had a good future at Southend United, but for one reason or another, it didn't work out. He could have been, like MtS said, our right winger they we are all crying out for.

Best of luck Jim, I just hope that these "bad headaches" don't turn out to be serious and it all gets cleared up and finds himself a new Club and doesn't come back to haunt us, like so many of our ex-players'.

good ridance to him, fantastic potential but yet again we have a case of great potential and ability but no self motivation, if i was tilly i would of said go away for the summer and come back for pre season and then decide if he has a futurre.

I don't think bad headaches are the sort of headaches that can be cured by a quick neurofen.
I think this is slightly more likely to be bad headaches in the Dean Richards mould that caused him to retire.
I'm sure if Jimmy Corbett had good health then he would be at the top of his game so please think before you speak next time.

im not doubting his footballing ability im just saying i feel he lacked self motivation and self belief-if you had been a 1million pound youngster it would take its toll, he probably asks himself how he ended up at this level its a real shame it had to happen to him but hopefully it sends out a message to youngsters that when you get the oppurtunity in the prem or with any pro club for that matter that you grab it with both hands and work your nuts off to relize and rach your potential.

i wish him well and hope his headaches are nothing serious and that he can return to play top quality football.

Thanks for the memories. In addition to the LDV 1st round here, I remember a match last season (might have been lincoln) where he was probably at his best and scored in a 3-0 win and then got injured.

Always a great shame to see a player with so much talent leave the club - what might have been had he not broken his legs at Blackburn - I sincerly hope to see him bounce back in the future.
