Whose contract would you renew?

Jack Bridge has to get another year, in 2 of the reserve/devolpment games I've been too he has been a different mustard, was very impressive. Haven't you noticed that his name always appears up when we play development games? The kid deserves a chance. Also I'm 50/50 on the other players for various reasons, especially Mads..

White, Prosser and Timlin are a must IMO.

Barrett and Ibenfeldt have until the end of the season to impress.

Bridge and Williams are players for the future and could push onto be challenging for a first team spot next season.

Atkinson and Deegan are tough ones. I really like Atkinson and think he is underrated here and I also like Deegan, but if we go up to League 1 then they might struggle to get in the team and think we could get better. I think Thompson has a lot of potential, but he needs a dominant and experienced defender to partner him. Might be worth another year.

As for Paul Smith and Lee Barnard, they can go. If Bentley goes in the summer, then sign an experienced replacement and make Ted Smith a backup and play in cup games. Lee Barnard hasn't shown enough and his loan spell at Stevenage suggested it is best he moves on if he wants to get more games and rediscover his form.

But what about BBBC? :winking:

Shouldn't need to be asked. Only communists don't appreciate BBBC, FACT!

Ha! That lets me out as an ex-communist.

The issue for me would be if we go up.Frankly,I don't think he could do the business at L1 level, anymore.Think OBL's probally right that he'll be retiring this summer anyway but if we're in L2 again next season, then he's probably worth a punt.

There are not many footballers in England who have played as many minutes over the past two years as Barry Corr has, under two different managers. I can't see him being forced into retirement.

He'd be a decent back-up in League 1, but can't see him playing regularly there next season. All 4 of our strikers' contracts expire at the end of this season, so could make for an interesting summer.

In an ideal world, we would win promotion and retain Williams and Corr while adding another 2 strikers.

The man has scored over 50 goals for the club and continues to do this despite suffering a horrendous injury. Unless injury forces him into early retirement then the club would be serious mugs not to renew his contract.

I would rather us sign Ched Evans than lose Barry Corr

THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A THROW AWAY COMMENT AND NOT IN ANY WAY DESIGNED TO OPEN UP *THAT* DEBATE AGAIN. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE AT FACE VALUE

No but seriously, love that man. #BarryCorrgasm

Excluding youngsters I think all the players on their are not wanted if we get promoted otherwise they would of had or be discussing deals already in fear of losing them but if we spend another year in league 2 you are going to get much better? ?

I'm sure I read somewhere that AB said that helping Blues win promotion would be a good end to his playing career.

The thing with Paul Smith is that he has proved a great asset in helping develop the younger GKs so who knows? He is great back up.

And surely a lot depends on how much they are costing us to keep. As OBL says, Smith has proved very useful as back up and GK coach, but is that enough?

Wonder if promotion and a couple of months end of season form has changed anything here

I expect that everyone who has figured in the last few games of the season and the play offs has a very good chance of being offered new contracts unless they want to leave. So from the list, I would expect smith, mads, Williams, Barney and Bridge to go and the rest to be offered new deals.

For me, the must keeps are White, Barratt, Timlin, Deegan and Corr. Would be very happy to keep the others, but I think there are slightly more replaceable.
