If he hadn't gone looking for a new club in November (when he wasn't figuring) im sure he would have been offered a better deal. I would have liked him to stay as our attack could have had Gower and Connie on the wings with Fredy and Gray upfront.[b said:Quote[/b] (it doesnt matter @ Dec. 10 2004,16:56)]it is financially better for a player to be playing and not sitting on the bench!
I cant believe how yet again your questioning his reasons... it makes perfect sense a player would go to the club where he'd get regular first team football... Its the same as Tilson boasting last year that Leon wouldnt be first choice striker over Drewe and Dudfield... Theres like another how many 6 strikers??? at Peterborough.
When you figure that Peterborough are struggling financially i cant see them being overjoyed if Leon had have refused the deal - £75K to the club!. I suppose you could reason that Fry could have pulled the same tactic he did when Leon refused the first loan deal.... "he can just rot in the reserves"
Be real you lot! Look at the bigger picture this is football - and the same old argument! Had Southend have offered him a fair contract reflecting his contribution to the club last year he may have re-signed!
