I'm sorry, but nobody at that stage of their career takes that much of a drop in wages. A small-ish drop maybe, but not a huge drop.

I think he is playing for around 60% of what he was on before, but of course there were other attractions like a 2 year deal, and moving back to an area he has fond memories of from his Norwich days. He also thought he was coming back to play for his old mate Parky, so it was a bit of a shock when he left almost straight after he signed! He did have Kevin Watson at the club though who he also knew from his Reading days and McLeod, who he used to play with at QPR.

Maybe so, but would you drop your wages that much to work witha mate??? No, neither would I.

I don't know, it looks reasonable to me. If you were eyeing up a job where everything bar the money was what you were after, you'd be pretty tempted. It also puts him in the shop window if, as it looks like, he is one of the top two or three scorers in teh division.

Honestly? One (Iwelumo or Cureton).

So you seriously think that man for man everyone else in Southend's current first team would keep his place ahead of anyone in Colchester's team, Cureton and Iwelumo aside?

Perhaps you'd need to see, for instance, Richard Garcia play a few more games to see why no sane man would want JCR on the wing instead.

Your defence hasn't been too hot this season either...

Obviously you see them more than I do. I'd take JCR ahead of Garcia though. Campbell-Ryce has been on top form since Christmas and is a different player to the one who played the tail end of last season with you.

Not only hasn't our defence been hot this year, it's been absolutely terrible. Player for player I'd take Hammell, Clarke & Barrett ahead of their Colchester counterparts, even if they haven't been defending as a unit as well as your lot have.
