I really hope they up their game big time and get a result. Often, when that happens, teams are completely garbage when they play their next league game.
We drew 0-0 at home against Preston after we beat United, which for us that season was a pretty good result! Only time we kept two consecutive clean sheets all season in fact.

I wasn't including Southend in my forward thinking, I wouldn't have a clue which Southend will turn up for the next match.

Looking at Man Utd's line up and who they have on their bench, clearly says they aren't risking another failure tonight.

Northampton's line-up looks pretty strong too to be fair, not hard to see why they stormed the league with that sort of quality.

Good shout. Looks as though it's only a 15 minute walk to the ground and lots of parking nearby.
Yeah went there a few seasons back when Barrett scored a couple of late headers to snatch it I think 😊 Decent local pub eat walk and easy to get out of after.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned... but where is the place of choice for pre-match drinks for the game Saturday?

Yes - it has been mentioned ............ in fact about half of this thread is dedicated to just that topic.

I think you will have to read through the pages to get the full benefit of the knowledge and insight of your fellow shrimpers.

I didn't bother reading through the lot as I assumed 80% of this thread, like most others, would be full of defeatist, miserable comments... I will take a look now though, thanks

No - that was last week ......... And will return next week if we lose at Sixcarparks on Saturday.

Bearing in mind that PB almost never changes a winning team, our bench should include Ferdinand, Inness, wordsworth and cox. Not bad, at all.

I think they will have an above average crowd on Saturday (6k+) as I read somewhere on their forum that they were selling some sort of package that their fans had to buy a Southend ticket if they wanted to get a ticket for last nights Man Utd game.

If that's the case then that might also work in our favour. A noisy, full(ish) house together with many hundreds of travelling Shrimpers will make us gee'd up for it.
