Clutching at straws get over it prepare for life in league one

yes I know what you mean but for the good of the club and the financial reward it would be well worth it.I could handle another trip to Sunderland by Easy Jet no problem:)

Anyway, agreed it won't happen so Carlise away by coach may be the next best thing:hilarious:

The trouble is that if Sheff Utd get a stay of execution and stay up, if the league keeps us up, then they would have to even up league 1 and then league 2 and then the conference. Where does it stop? If Sheff Utd stay up then the championship will be with a team less.

I've a funny feeling that the committee will come to a conclusion that will keep the premiership sweet. There is a lot of money at stake - Sheff Utd aren't a big enough fish for big decisions to be made. If anything West Ham will be given a more meaningful fine and maybe points off at the start of this season.

Arbitration results will be annoucend at the end of the month.

So IF they reinstate Sheffield united and West ham are relegated and then consequently appeal this could drag on to almost the start of next season, I hate West Ham as much as the next man and yeah they bent the rules but the whole thing is a complete joke IMO.

Colchester away to Sheffield Utd on first game of season - its would be funny to see their face after 30th July knowing they got Southend away instead where they get beat 4-0 with MacDonald scoring on his debut!

it wont happen, it will be 21 teams in the prem, 23 in the championship. the championship wont change it will be the same going up and down, but there will be 4 coming down from the prem

I don't think the Football League would want their league schedule to be put out by having 23 teams in the Championship. Having one team not playing on the final day of the season could potentially have huge implications for the promotion or relegation issues, and it isn't their mess so why would thry want to deal with that? If Sheffield United stay up I think Torquay will stay in the league and then they'll bump one team up from League Two and one (us) up from League One.

It won't happen though. Sheffield United won't succeed and we won't be reprieved. And, like DtS, I don't think I'd want us to either.

I don't get this "wouldn't feel right" bit. Denmark only participated in the 1992 European Championships because Yugoslavia, having qualified ahead of Denmark in their group, had to withdraw because of the war brewing there. Denmark went on to win it. I don't think you would have found many Danes crying "But we are not worthy" (or whatever the Danish for that is). West Ham are staying in the prem because they cheated. If we were reprieved it would be due to circumstances entirely beyond our control, and I would leap at the chance of another season in the CCC.

And the look on the Leed's fan's faces: Priceless!

West Ham have said that they'd take the Premiership to the European Courts if they get relegated now and they'd probably win so if Sheffield United are reinstated there will probably be a 21 team Premiership. That would then mean either a 23 team Championship or they'd massage the leagues, probably keeping Torquay in the league instead of the Conference and then sort it out again through relegations next season. Both of which would be absolute shambles in terms of organisation.

Very true. I'm not sure how we can have sympathy with a team who only needed a point at home against a shambles of a Wigan team to stay up.

That said, we were all (rightfully) very critical of Boston when they cheated to promotion so shouldn't we take the same stance to West Ham when the intent to act in an illegal manner has been shown?
