Was the guy on BBC Essex at the same game? I heard him reading tweets or emails about how bad the ref was and he said I don't know what your talking about but your entitled to your opinion, at which point I turned the radio over and listened to some adverts on Heart instead

Absolutely awful last night although not helped by the linesmen-especially the east. No wonder Attwell is now reffing at our level. If he carries on like that he will be lucky to ref a sunday league game

I was very angry last night with his awful performance and it still bug's me this morning as I feel it contributed to our defeat.
His demeanour on the pitch along with his inconsistent decision making result in him being an incredibly annoying to have in charge of a match and I really hope never to see him at Roots Hall again.
He seems to have been fast tracked to the top quite quickly and may well now be making the return journey.

I'm lead to believe Britt's goal was onside, coming from someone who had seen it on reply before the final whistle. I had the best view in the house for the penalty shout, and no bias at all, but it was a definite penalty. Can only echo the comments re BBC Essex and Glenn Speller. Yes we are all entitled to our opinions, but I was flabberghasted to hear that Speller thought the ref had a good game.

There was one spell when Clohessy got taken out off the ball. The ref and West stand lino missed it (as usual). Clohessy then went and won the ball back and got fouled (not given), he then went and left his foot in on their player (not given) and then went after the player who'd did him, I can't remember if that was given. Absolutely dire refereeing to let it get that far.

No it wasn't given - Sean was racing around trying to avenge the foul on him and yet he still didn't give anything. useless ****.

That was in front of us, we were all shouting at Clohessy to calm down and that the team needed him.

Attwell was awful but unfortunately, those clowns who prefer to blame Sturrock for everything on Twitter, failed to accept that any blame could be laid at the officials' feet. The west lino was equally bad, and Glen Speller ought to keep his opinions to himself when they're so obviously at odds with what ALL the people texting in were saying. How Cheltenham's captain was allowed to get away with what he was doing (and I think it was him with Clohessy) I'll never know, and the 25 also seemed to be best buds with Attwell.

Our players have to get wise to the kind of tactics Cheltenham were using though, sometimes it's better to grapple a bit to get your point across. I thought Coughlan should have started to be honest, made a mark and marked a man or two before being subbed!

Agree. Even if he cannot run he would have certainly made his mark on a couple of their players so that some of their (unpunished) over physical style would have been kept in check.
