Cheltenham 2014

I backed Champagne Fever for a good lump on the 4th of November 2013 at 7/1. Four months wait for two minutes of racing.

Fair to say the final strides of that race yesterday will haunt me for a while.

'kin hell that's rough.

Still, you'll always have last year's Supreme Novice's Hurdle!

That sound you can hear is a thousand bookmakers and traders up and down the country jumping up and down. Been one hell of a bookie friendly festival.

Tuesday to the bookies, Wednesday to the punters, Thursday to the punters up until the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, then bookies all the way since then.

And **** all to me. My worst Festival ever.

Mixed fortunes here. One lad's up about £500, another down a fair bit more than that... I'm only £30 down at the moment, although a win for Divine Intavention would certainly be decent.

After a lousy Tues, terrible Wednesday and even worse Thursday. A fantastic Friday (2 wins &3 places) left me coming out of the Festival up which looked impossible on the Thursday evening.

Couple of stats from last week - Hills were taking 3,500 bets per minute on the opening day, which went up to 5,000 bets per minute on Gold Cup day.
