Cheltenham 2014

The more rain the better fof Harry Topper for Gold cup ew currently some showing 25/1, the horse maynot be te best in the field but will stay all day and if the ground is testing then the form book goes out of the window, impressive last saturday and just kept plowing through the heavy going

Now note first faller faller :'(

Really enjoyed my day there yesterday - gorgeous weather, plenty of booze, a fair bit of free booze, lots of laughs, shared a cab with journo and broadcaster Martin Kelner, saw Chico Flores in a ridiculous fur coat - but had a rotten day punting wise, with only place returns on Trifolium (from an ante-post bet) and The Package to show for it.

I remain convinced that The New One would have won the Champion Hurdle had he not been impeded by the sadly departed Our Conor, but that's racing for you.

Gone for Captain Conan and Smad Place today. The punters are loving Faugheen in the 1:30, it's being backed in like nobody's business.

Would love to get down there for a day.
The New One definitely would have won came flying back after the stumble, still placed.
Faugheen odds were too short for me so plumped for Cup Final EW at 20/1
Unsure on the rest of the days races at the moment

It's a great day out. If you ever go, I'd advise going on the Tuesday as the racing is great, but it's not as insanely busy as Gold Cup day.

I backed Champagne Fever for a good lump on the 4th of November 2013 at 7/1. Four months wait for two minutes of racing.

Fair to say the final strides of that race yesterday will haunt me for a while.

I've had a bit of a flutter on Wishfull Thinking e/w in the QM. The horse has won me a small fortune over its career and at 11 it isn't getting any younger, so this might just be its last chance to really make my faith in it worthwhile. The last two years have been difficult with a few breathing problems and if it weren't for those I'm certain it would've taken a big scalp at one of these festivals.

Perhaps next year. Although the day I'm having I'm starting to go off the idea. So disheartening watching your horse making good running then fall at the hurdle
