Cheering and Chanting onto the Championship

Quote[/b] (Lucas D @ Mar. 06 2006,14:44)]After seeing the other threads on this subject, I think its a poor show that our away support is better then our home support. That really shouldn't be the case. I for one have noticed how bland the east stand can be and about 95% of the people sitting in the east will rather just sit there, rather than sing and cheer on their team.

Just an idea...... I think it would be worth while for the club to organise blocks of seats for the 'noiser' fans.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for someone within the club (or not) to gather a list of names on who would want a noise only block! Then fans wanting to sing and shout can sit in these blocks without being frowned at and viewed upon as a 'nutter'. This is so important and the singing really motivates the players.
I just feel that more should be done to create more of an atmosphere at the Hall.

Any thoughts?
Nice idea, but i have MY seat and i sing, but im not moving anywhere

I think you'll find 99% of League clubs are more vocal away than at home though, thats just the way it is. Probably due to variety more than anything.
Yeah, but the west offers a pretty crap view with all them support posts.

East gives a better view.

Actually I much prefer the West provided I can get a seat on half-way.

this has been talked about a couple of times over the last few years and a lot of people really like the idea. but then if you go with mates who don't want to join in then they won't want to sit with you.

also it just needs to happen for the first time all agreeing to sit in one area. we know the popular areas of the ground and we haave been on here a couple of years ago saying for a certain game we should sit here... well if you are interested in dooing it i would say sitting in the north end of the west is the way forward. a good atmosphere is generated a few pikey kids but get your bums over their, even they sing their hearts outt for the lads.

the problem is it may not create noise from other stands but we will always have the south upper chanting for tilly. so it is ok.

yes, lets pick a game and sit there!!

Quote[/b] (Yeovil_Shrimper @ Mar. 06 2006,17:55)]i've been to a few championship games this year with my mate who is a stoke fan and one thing i have noticed which is different to the lower division is the atmosphere generated by the home fans, be it because there is usually 10,000+ at most grounds but they seem to be able to generate a vey loud atmosphere, something which lacks at most grounds you go to in the lower divisions so IF we do go up i think singing sections would be a something to consider, or maybe trial it for a few games to see if it could boost the noise and more importantly shut the away fans up.
The average attendance for the Championship this season is about 17,500 so 10,000 more than we are getting now.  So there is bound to be a better atmosphere.

From what I hear the atmosphere for the Beam Back against Col******r was better than most home games this season.

Lets really try and get behind the team on Friday.
yes, but the songs were only followed when we could here them at layer road or when we scored on the whole with a few exceptions! and people like myself and others do not sit in the east for home games.
