Cheap Weekend Away in July - Ideas?

Planning on taking the missus away 4th-6th July for the weekend for our anniversary. Don't want to spend too much, £150 absolute tops (yes I am a cheapskate, but saving to move in together in October!). Looking at B&Bs, hotels etc in East Anglia/South East. Anyone got any decent recommendations? Looking for queit-ish weekend, possibly near coast - altough pretty open minded to suggestions!
Cheap, but nice (bit like me I guess ;))

Have you tried looking in one of the free london papers...Loads of offers like Brussells for £149 for two etc wvia the Metro?

Bradwell... dead quiet, near the sea and you'll come back with a nice glow!

UK is fine, we have seen quite a few hotels but looking for recommendations....

I'll have a look out for that though Dave, although my passport my have run out by then so need to get that sorted ;)

As MK said thing you might need to increase your budget a bit unless you are camping......

Hi Pickledseal, i have used this place a number of times for some cracking deals - try this
http://www.easy-breaks.com/

Thanks guys just spent the last hour trawling through various websites. The internet is an awesome thing, but equally makes it a real vast expanse of information!!
Think I have found a nice B&B just outside Eastbourne (I think it is in Seaford) for £110 for two nights including breakfast.
THe question is, will it keep the missus happy... ;)

Southwold is nice

I recently picked up a two-for-one deal on an overnight spa-break for the missus and I off lastminute.com - It was at Thoresby Hall in Sherwood - Double room, B&B, and two free spa treatments for £99. Only the one night but it appeared way more expensive than what I'd paid for it...

Sorry to p1ss on your chips but Seaford is a total dive mate......Cant think there is anything to do there.....Hope im worng and you do have some nice places near by but not sure about Seaford.....

There are some nice places around Norfolk and Suffolk, not too far so saving a bit on travel. Some lovely old pubs that do accommodation, particularly around Diss and IIRC there's a very nice hotel near to Center Parcs at Elveden Forest, Thetford. Could get more details if you're interested.

If you've got a Tesco's Clubcard, how about trying to use the tokens / voucher from that ? I know they do some decent deals for a 2 night stay in a Hotel for about the quarter of the price when using the tokens / vouchers.

That's a really good idea, or use it to travel with Airmiles or on Eurostar to France. We used ours last year for a couple of nights in a hotel on the edge of the New Forest, spent some time in Portsmouth, and also at Beaulieu - which is a really good day out. Drove back listening to Southend away at Brighton on the radio!

I'm saving my one for Alton Towers... bit of a bonus that you can use it up to the end of october... Alton Towers at Halloween is excellent, rides in the dark!

If you give me some names, I could google, anything recieved, very gratefully recieved! :)
