Celtic fans supporting Palestine

It's important to remember Israel is a democracy that allows freedom of speech and seeks peace with its neighbours. If any flags do get through and unfurled I suspect the only thing that will happen is that they are taken down by the police and/or the army. Ironically that might include Arabs as there are plenty of Israeli Arabs who serve in the Israeli police and army. If they end up being charged with anything they might also end up in a court presided over by an Arab Israeli judge.

If some Be'er Sheva fans should take it upon themselves to seek retribution you can be sure the perpetrators will be dealt with by the full force of Israeli law, which like most Western countries is based on UK law.

Personally I think it is a good thing that these people travel to Israel. Once they meet and speak to Israelis, and realise just how many Arabs live happily in Israel it won't take long for them to realise just how misguided they are.

[barna]Funnily enough someone I know has just emigrated to Israel and is currently studying medicine in Be'er Sheva. I might have to speak to her...[/barna]

this is satire yes?

It's managed to agree peace deals with Jordan and Egypt, and apparently now has diplomatic relations with Syria, so not satire, just fact.
Stunned. In a thread about Palestine - the territory that has traded murder with Israel for decades someone genuinely refers to Israel as 'seeks peace with its neighbours' without a hint of irony. Over 20,000 dead from an ongoing conflict and you say Israel seeks peace with its neighbours. As historical rewrites go that is right up there with the worst of them.

That's because it now uses the USA to make sure there will never be peace in the Middle East. Whilst places like Syria and Iraq are in turmoil they won't be bothering Israel.

Google Israeli terrorism and see what they have done since 1945. Then ask yourself why you never see a single documentary or historic news report on the subject.

I don't deal in conspiracy theories.

Anyway, this thread is getting well and truly diverted.

How is it not fact that Israel is at peace with Egypt, Jordan and (IIRC) is moving in the same direction with Syria? The obvious extrapolation is that it will hopefully agree peace deals with all its neighbours.

Anyway, as I said to Rigsby, this thread is in danger of being well and truly diverted so no more on this aspect from me.

Because to claim that a country is peaceful because it is only at war with one of its neighbours (and has been for 50 years and is considered a potential cause of mass conflict throughout the region if not rest of the world) makes no sense,

The thread was about football fans and you diverted it to your oh so beloved homeland that you love so much you do not live there but it can do no wrong in your jewish eyes.
Fact
jews just like the rest of the world can be a-holes,nice,friendly,horrible,nasty,fair,unfair,blah blah blah but in your blinkered view they are poor misunderstood peace loving poeple and MUST and i repeat for effect MUST be liked by everyone and not a bad word must ever be said against them which is comple nads my jewish fellow zoner who may or may not have a big nose(compain away its mere humor of the lowest form).
Football fans like yourself should be able to make their feelings know and not made to hide away in fear of prison by arab jews russian jews or jewish jews.
As a footbal fan i have held a Union Jack flag aloft at the site of the battle of the Boyne in Irish Irealand, which was a stupid thing to do but i was young,a few palastine flags will change nothing and niether will you riding roughshood over any one who doesnt share your views on the state of isreal.
If anything your arrogance on the subject will turn people the other way,but never change as you and barna my my two top posters on here.
Shalom my brother.

I remember coming back from Calais on the ferry with a couple of coachloads of Celtic fans singing pro IRA songs.

No doubt another case of good for them.

And I can remember singing "We're all off to Dublin in the Green,Dublin in the Green, to the echo of a Thompson gun" in Birmingham pubs back in the 70's .Different times.

On further investigation I find it's those jolly chaps the Green Brigade. The IRA loving, Brit hating lovable rouges from north of the border.

All becomes clear why the Patriot is a fan.

I think you'll find the so-called Green Brigade are no longer welcome supporters at Parkhead.Officially at least.:winking:
