Celebrity spotting

Ok not as good as some of those said already but, I met Gok Wan whilst queueing up for a coffee. He was standing in front of me and we got talking. We then sat down together to have our coffee where he told me lots of things about his life, growing up etc. What a wonderful person he is and so sincere. Told me to apply for one of his shows
indeed, top bloke, as is his brother kwoklyn.

Saw Uncle Ron running to catch the tube at Liverpool Street last night - he's a celebrity right? well in his mind he is!!

Saw Jeremy Guscott in Bath back in June.

In a similar vein (ie spotting former sports star in the place most synonymous with his career non-shocka), saw Mark Nicholas at Lord's when I was commentating there recently. "Leader" was sporting a particularly natty leather waiscoat and drainpipe trousers. I was tempted to tell him that the 80s weren't yet back in fashion... but bit my tongue!

While at uni (and with apologies to those whom I've bored with this story previously), we used to play "random celeb bingo", for which more points were awarded for the more obscure (but, equally, well-known) the celebrity and the more random the location.

I was leading the competition for most of the year with Hugh Scully (formerly of the Antiques Roadshow) outside Charing Cross Station; but was trumped just before the end of the year by my mate James, who spotted Alan Whicker outside New Scotland Yard.

When James and I retold this story one night in a club to a mutual chum, the woman at the table next to us turned round and - with geniune venom in her eyes - said "I f***ing hate Alan Whicker". Which was odd, but bloody amusing as well.

No wonder he's so rich... he gets his lunch paid for by you! As Delboy would say... Rodney, you plonker...

Shappy Khorsadhi before she was "famous" (called me a ******** [in jest] and then apologised profusely afterwards)
