but its more about the style and understatedness of what you wear rather than the brand itself, for example my new ralph lauren jacket looks far more "casual" style nowadays than some stone island jackets, despite the SI badge.

Mainline menswear or Brown bag clothing is a good starting point. Not cheap though fella...

I didn't know you were an ex-hoolie Rich! :D

Always fascinates me as to why people what put on their best clothes to go out for a dust up in, why not go the whole the hog and rent a tuxedo?

I can just see Danny Dyer now on Football Factories Ascot charging down the street with a load of tux wearing chaps called Giles. "This firm are proper naughty!"

Well, I don't think I can be classed strictly as an ex-hoolie.
Only time I've ever had a fight in a football ground was at the Brokers Cup game at Charlton in the mid 90s. It was a work thing and although it was mainly all "handbags at dawn", when I quit, it didn't stop my idiot of a Finance Director saying he had heard about my hooligan reputation and was that partly why I was resigning!

Just guilty of liking the style of it. Similar to what we were speaking about in terms of This is England - I don't necessarily agree with the politics/beliefs/actions of people, I just happen to like their fashion style!

don't go to BB clothing, all grey imports, can never be 100% sure. for example SI has the article numbers removed..

I personally get my clothes from proper shops, you can try them on etc, sizing can be all over the place with some italian brands and it is important to get the fit right on a £200 jumper.

In Southend there is not many decent shops, best close one is Woodhouse in Bluewater, or go into London. Although moved away 7 years ago, so might have changed now

I don't buy expensive clothes often, owing to owning a gas guzzling Subaru and a flat which needs decorating (both much bigger priorities!), but when I do, I really like a visit to Ravens...completely different to anywhere in Southend.

Gran Moda is my favourite shop in the area.
I like Mendoza in Brick Lane but thats more of a vintage clothes shop.
Hypnotique in Leigh is a good little shop (Vintage again tho') with some cracking DNA stuff

Where is Gran Moda??

I thought you'd say Leigh....home of low-rent footballer's wife wannabees, hence the influx of bespoke boutiques selling overpriced clothing! :D

I shall check it out sometime!
