Cheers to GHG, gave the TSD crankshaft sensor a good clean with some WD-40 (it was filthy) and it seems to have done the trick so far.
Found a small amount of oil in the air filter (don't notice any smoke out the exhaust, and never had a problem overheating), is that a problem? Obviously it'll be picked up on when it gets serviced.
