Car Paint Protection

Holy Joe

Manager⭐⭐🦐
Thinking about getting a paint protection film (PPF) and/or ceramic coating on a car. Anyone have any experience with different products and/or recommend an installer/detailer?

Any thoughts on full or partial PPF - full looks like could cost several k, is it worth it? Does PPF really work at preventing damage?

TIA for any advice/tips

I'm in full (late) mid life crisis mode. It's a Cayman 4.0 GTS

Well. I have never owned a flash car but I own some nice bikes and laptops. I used to obsess about keeping them spotless but I am happier now just accepting that sooner or later some minor cosmetic damage is inevitable.

That might be the way to go. Looking like 4 to 5k for full PPF. I imagine that's alot of stone chip repairs. Maybe cheaper just to get someone round to repair the stone chips when they get too bad?

It depends how long you are thinking of keeping the car. If keeping over 8 years, a full PPF is recommended. If only keeping a few years, then front partial is recommended. In both cases it's best to have the ceramic coating on top. There's also 3 types of PPF. Dark(Which will change the colour of the car to darker), Clear, and Matt. Obviously a ceramic coating on it's own, is a good cheaper option. Pro Touch in Canvey(they have a body shop, and mobile service), use Williams Ceramic Coat which is meant to be the best and is guaranteed the life of the car.
All this is from my car dealer mate, when I asked him your questions.

Also...wouldn't this invalidate the warranty on the paintwork?
