can no one on this site be positive???

I can do positive, most of the time anyway. I think the last month has been incredibly difficult for us all, not least the players and Club officials and employees. Ron Martin obviously has a long term plan that we are not privvy to all the details of, and whilst we may not all like the way he appears to be doing business, he is doing it nevertheless, and Fossetts is still a kind of Shangri La in the distance.

This season was always going to be about tightening belts, and we knew it was going to be a bumpy ride, I just don't think any of us were prepared for quite how bumpy it has become.

Hopefully, with a bit of good fortune smiling our way on the field for a change, we might be able to turn the corner and get some points on the board. Success on the pitch seems to translate into a less stormy atmosphere off it, so if we want this to happen, then we have to continue to do our bit and urge and encourage the boys on to victory.

Let's start with that this Friday against the Donuts, incidentally, not seen Mick's ref thread yet, but we've got the Deadman.

can no one on this site be positive ?

Yes, I am positive things do not look in very good shape.

Someone said Bournemouth had an even smaller squad and things were so bad Lead Bradbury had to play at right-back, so that would make us the second smallest squad in the League. See things are looking up already.

We have had 12 substitutes in our last three matches, Bournemouth have managed 14 .... it's a close call.

Yep you did, Barney won't sign a new contract so will probably go in January.
Others will probably follow.

when did u hear this!

:/

does that mean we will have freedman to fill in?
Didn't hear it mate, that's why i said probably, if he isn't going to sign a new contract then it is our one and only chance to get some cash for him. I just hope something happens to pursuade him to sign a new deal. UTB.

What are the reasons to be cheerful here exactly?
OK,RM paid off that 2.1 million quid bill to HMRC but we've no idea where and when the next unpaid bill will become due.Coming our way quite shortly I would have thought.
As others in this thread have pointed out we have the smallest squad in Div 1(almost certainly in all 4 divisions)not for unrelated financial reasons either.
No cup run to look forward to.No sign from the club that money will be made available to bring in more loan players now who we are so obviously in need of.No promise that any permanent signings will be made in January.
Oh and we're in the worst economic crisis for a generation which means that we can't get the funding for FF and it's beginning to look like a very long time(if ever)before that mythical first brick gets laid .
Did I miss anything out?:darkcloud:

Alternatively---

  • We don't owe HRMC anything for 12 months
  • Grant has signed a new contract
  • Herd's injury isn't as bad as we expected
  • This time a few weeks ago lots of people thought admin was 100% going to happen
  • M'voto is presently with us and not Sunderland (if people can read doom into stuff where we don't know facts I am going to take this as evidence that he is going to extend his loan)
  • We heard nothing about loanees- then got one- so whos to say it won't happen again ?
  • We are not getting thrashed every week
  • A year ago people wanted Barney out - thank god it didn't happen
  • A few months ago people wanted Mildy out - thank god it didn't happen
  • Tilly has not XXXX off despite the numerous rumours on here
  • We have a home match tomorrow
  • All of our matches are now on BBC Essex for those that can't make it
  • Wiggy &TTK arn't posting much so things can't be that bad?
  • We don't know what the financial situation is - so maybe its better than we think it is
  • If you still need cheering up look at various threads from FBM
there is always stuff to be happy about if you look for it

Always look on the bright side of life ......

the only positive out of all of this is purely that there is a SOUTHEND UNITED. thats pretty much it. everything else is up the pan but atleast we have a club to support.

£2.1 million debt

Still no building work on new stadium

Issues with wages

RM's Statements

GK in general

RM's Hair

Just a few little issues as you put it.

Either you havent been following whats been going on these last few weeks, or you own the biggest pair of rose tinted glasses around.

Yet we do have a new stadium agreed after 20 years and in the pipeline if you took your poo tinted glasses off for a minute.

And how very dare you put his hair as a negative point!!!
