Was having a chat with a mate and we were talking about Facebook and meeting people, we then got onto the conversation of Match.com. I have never used anything like it before and my mate was saying its brilliant.

Am I going into a point of desperation using an online dating service to find my perfect girlfriend? Or would I be using it just to get my nuts wet?

I say go for it - best thing about websites like match.com are the fact that you get to know someone without feeling any of the pressure or nerves to go out and 'pull' at a nightclub or pub.

If things go well, arrange to meet up. If not, just write to someone else and carry on like that. Nothing to lose, everything to gain from trying the website. As I told you in England, I met my missus through a site like Facebook for my University, and that has gone rather well, don't you think? :D

People are always very quick to laugh or frown upon anyone that uses a dating website, but do what is right for you mate.

Not jealousy happy with my bird thanks,and I wouldn't be Jealousy of a 4ft maggotand I heard white sunglasses don't look good on you even more so on match day :)

My glasses rock Gareth and you know you want them.... I agree I am enjoying my life but I dunno I am just not used to not having a girlfriend. Its something new for me, so maybe I should just enjoy my life and my mates.

Internet is great, I have met up with loads of girls from the internet. Just not sure about actually paying for an online dating site.

i was once registered and one of the blokes at work mentioned he knew someone who used it....

no fee....even to send/receive messages.
obviously slightly more open to wind up merchants but you never know your luck.

i would prefer now to keep the roof over my head, rather than have someone take it all from me when they choose to bugger off if i am honest.
