Which, at the end of the day is the be all and end all isn't it? As long as Fossets Farm is built then bollocks to anything else....bulldoze anything in the way and just put in a ten lane freeway if that's what it takes!

As has been stated on here countless times Priory Park isn't being bulldozed and what is being removed is being replaced x2. The road improvements are not just for the proposed new stadium and you well know that and if you don't then you are an idiot. Eastern Avenue/Priory Cresent has been a bottle neck for years and needs sorting out.

Oh and heres one for all you tree huggers out there. Camp Bling was directly responsible for three trees dying while the soap dodgers were in residence through banging nails into them to secure makeshift whatevers. Nothing like knowing your subject while saving the earth wouldn't you agree.

...there was an article in the Echo about them some time ago. Apparantly they do work for a living. The camp is only fully inhabited during weekend and public holidays. For normal working days it is only inhabited by people who have taken leave from their work. So rather than assenine and ignorant comments, they should be commended for demonstrating in their own time, at no costs to the Welfare State and without involving any policing costs. In fact I do wonder why some find them so offensive as they do no harm to anyone.

Isnt this all a case of NIMBYism with a dash Eco Warrior chucked in.

Unfortunately a lot of development includes trees being taken down, however it should be about whether the promise of replanting saplings is adhered to.

After sitting in that area for 15mins yesterday with traffic backed up past the Aldi, whilst trying to head out of town from the East of the Borough. I had thought the tailback was being caused by what I had read on twitter, about the supposed tree removal beginning and the subsequent call to arms. It was no surprise to see the only real activity was the MEDIA hungry protestors posing for the Echo Photographer.

How much of a benefit will there be with that part of the road being dual carriageway? Are they going to widen the bridge? Will they get rid of cuckoo corner roundabout?

Why not make Priory Cresent one way from the roundabout heading towards Eastern Avenue, and have the opposite traffic go down the other side of Priory park towards the traffic lights at Vic Avenue/Fairfax Drive?

Surely that would make the traffic at the lights of Vic Avenue far too heavy, with 4 busy approaches converging.

Can't they just make an fly over accross Cuckoo corner, that should alleviate things:)

I am guessing flyovers tend to have more of an affect on business in the vicinty than a junction would.

IIRC any Flyover I have been near seems to be devoid of character and a haven for the Bucket Windscreen washers.
