The population of Burton is 44,000 and fleetwood has a population of 26,000....
So their combined population is about 25% of that of the Southend area......
The final attendance could easily only be about 10,000.
I noticed on tv that fleetwood took about 82 to York in the first leg.

I think they took about 240

Cambridge United at Roots Hall was my first game watching the Blues, glad to see them back in L2. A club that deserves to be at this level, unlike far too many that are now.

82!!!! That is what happens when a football club is a rich man's plaything - you can buy players but you can't buy fans.

Glad its Cambridge lovely little ground remember going there the season we went up, I think we won 2.0 and played in my favourite away kit of sky blue shirts white shorts and socks. We packed out the away stand and a lot of the sides too. I'm actually looking forward to next season with Wycombe and Northhampton staying up and Luton and Plymouth and Portsmouth to bring good crowds to the Hall. Even if we had taken 30,000 to wembley looking across at a meagre couple of thousand would be depressing for such a proud stadium. It was bad enough with the 8,000 or so Crewe took and Fleetfoot or button will take noway as many. with Brentford and possible Borient leaving league 1 next season, Im quite happy to be staying were we are for another season.

I enjoyed this game - particularly second half - ref should have sent a Gateshead lad off - he did enough bad tackles for at least 3 yellows - I understand the ref will be in L2 next year.
One thing that puzzled me was the injury time - the Cambridge lad went down injured on about 87 mins - at 90 mins the 4th official put up 7 mins added time. The Cambridge guy eventually got strechered off about 4 mins later - but they still only played 7 mins - didn't make sense to me - shouldn't there have been another 3-4 mins added-added time?

Promotion came at a cost for Cambridge with their captain sustaining a ruptured Achilles tendon injury leaving him in a wheelchair unable to lead his team up the steps for the trophy. Tough close season for him.

Pretty good gate for Conference. Be interested to see whether the Div 2 play-off final reaches that.

No way, i would be surpirsed if it gets more than we did on saturday.

Fleetwood's average attendance: 2,819
Burton's average attendance: 2,720

Both in the bottom 6 for average attendances this season. Pretty poor. However, there will undoubtedly be the plastic fans who turn up, just like we found out at Wembley last year.

For the record, our average attendance this season was 5,959

Att: 19,613

19,613 was actually the 2nd lowest Conference play-off final crowd since they have been back at Wembley.
The average Conference final crowd at the new Wembley before yesterdays game was 35,987.

Cambridge had about 12,000 fans and they had already been to Wembley a few weeks back for the Trophy Final. It was also their 4th game at the new Wembley.

What is also crazy about the Conference final is that the cheapest adult ticket price was £39 the cheapest League 2 play-off final ticket for an adult is £26.

The current League 2 play-off final average crowd at the new Wembley is 42,370.
